The NFL is set up with another action packed slate of games throughout Week 5. Fourteen games will be up on the board throughout Sunday. One of these matchups will be between the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings. These two teams have been struggled this season, but will look for a big win in this one. This game will kick off at around 1:00 PM Eastern time.
Detroit has earned a record of 0-4 throughout this season, which has them sitting in last place of the NFC North. The Lions are coming off a tough loss to the Chicago Bears. Detroit went 1-5 in the redzone with two turnover and two failed fourth downs. These mistakes helped Chicago earn a 24-14 win. The Lions will look to bounce back in Week 5.
The Vikings have put up a record of 1-3 so far this season, which has them sitting in third place of the NFC North. Minnesota met up with the Cleveland Browns in Week 4. Neither offense could get going in that one. The Vikings put up seven points on their opening drive, but could not muster any more offense. The Browns were able to earn a 14-7 win in this one.
These two teams are coming off rough Week 4 performances and will look to bounce back in this one. Detroit has now fallen in two straight weeks off of their own mistakes. The Vikings still are looking to create consistent offense. If either team can put up some points early in this one, it could be enough to grab the pivotal division win.

The Vikings look very similar to last season with an offense around Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook, Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson. Detroit on the other hand look completely different on the offensive side of the ball. Now Jared Goff is the starting Quarterback for the Lions. Goff will look to earn his first win with Detroit in this one.
Opening Odds and Line Movement
The spread for this game opened up at -7 ½ in favor of the Vikings. That line has only grown since the game opened and is not at -10 only a couple of days before kickoff.
The over/under for this one is listed at 49 ½ points. The total has not shifted at all with only a few days until Sunday. This line makes seems a bit high for two offenses that have not looked great and a Vikings defense that held Cleveland to 14 points a week ago.
The spread for this game continues to get bigger, which does not make much sense. Divisional games like this one are going to be more likely to be close. Minnesota has also not looked really impressive early in the season.

Free Bet and Game Prediction: Detroit Lions +10 (-105)
Neither one of these teams have been able to get much going so far this season. Detroit is still hunting for their first win, while the Vikings have only won once so far. The Lions have felt close to that first win in the last couple of weeks and I think they could pull off the upset in this one. Detroit has some talent on both sides of the ball and if they can control the pace, I think they will at least keep this game close.
Kirk Cousins will get the start under center for the Vikings in Week 5. Cousins has passed for 1121 yards, nine touchdowns and one interception on the season. Jared Goff will get the nod at Quarterback for Detroit in this one. Goff has thrown for 1100 yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions. Both QB’s will look to control the pace in this one.
The line for this matchup as Minnesota listed as a -10 against the spread. This line gives a big edge to the Vikings entering play on Sunday. I think that this line should be much closer to even. Detroit has had some solid moments this season and if they can clean up their redzone offense, they could pull off this upset. Getting more than a touchdown in a divisional game is great value for the Lions in Week 5.
