NFL Week 6 Picks Against the Spread and Over Under

After a perfect 3 for 3 in Week 4 of the NFL, last weekend I managed to hit only 1 of 3, as the Saints couldn’t cover the spread – let alone beat the struggling Cardinals. I am bouncing back in a big way here in Week 6 as I plan on going a minimum 2 for 3 with these picks, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I went a perfect 3 for 3!

Week 6 provides more excitement in the NFL as we see some really great match ups on the board. The Baltimore Ravens will be in New England to face the Patriots. The 2-2 Miami Dolphins look to stay in the AFC East hunt with a win over the Green Bay Packers. Cleveland finds themselves meeting divisional rivals Pittsburgh Steelers, who will be starting Ben Roethlisberger in his first game of the season as he comes off of a 4 game suspension. The Sunday Night NFL game will see the Indianapolis Colts travel to Washington to take on McNabb and the Redskins, and the Monday Night’er is a showdown between the Titans and Jaguars. Full NFL Week 6 Picks from our expert writers will be posted in our Sports Picks Blog, and my personal Top 3 NFL Week 6 Picks against the spread can be found below!

Week 6 NFL Betting Picks:

Atlanta/Philadelphia UNDER 43 – Click here to get it at 43 (-110) @

The Falcons have a very solid defense, allowing only 14 points against per game so far in their 5 games this season.  Kolb will be the starter for the Eagles this week at quarterback with Vick injured.  Although Kolb looked pretty solid last week throwing for 253 yards and completing 67% of his passes, you have to remember he was playing against a 49ers defense who gave up 31 points to KC, 25 to NO and 31 to SEA on the season.  The Falcons are averaging 22.6 points per game, but that is a number that is very inflated due to their 41 points in Week 2 against Arizona.  The under is 4-1 in Atlanta’s last 5 road games, and 9-2 in their last 11 overall.  The under is also 6-0-1 in these two teams meetings and I don’t look for that trend to stop here.  Look for a 20-17 type game and bet the UNDER.

Oakland Raiders +7 – Click here to get it at -110 @

This might mark the first time in NFL history that an 0-5 team comes into a game as seven point favorites.  The San Fransisco 49ers, who some had picked as a longshot Super Bowl contender, have started the season with five straight losses and have only averaged 15.2 points per game.  On the other side of the ball is the Oakland Raiders who are coming off an impressive win against the Chargers, and sit on a 2-3 record.  The Raiders should actually be 3-2, as they missed a short last second field goal a few weeks ago against the Cardinals.  Although I agree the 49ers should be favored here, I was thinking more like 4.5-5.5 points, and will gladly take seven points with the Raiders going against a team who can’t put up points.  Trends may sway you in favor of the 49ers, but I am throwing those aside for this game.  Get the Raiders at +7 @ before it’s too late!

Tennessee Titans -2.5 – Click here to get it at -115 @ (Note: most sportsbooks have Titans -3 act fast!)

The Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars both sit with 3-2 records in the AFC South…. where the other two teams (Hou, Ind) also sit with 3-2 records!  This is going to be a great divisional Monday Night Week 6 NFL match up no doubt.  The Titans are coming off of a huge road win against the Cowboys, and have also beaten a tough New York Giants team on the road to make up their perfect 2-0 road record.  The reason I really like the Titans in this game is the fact that the Jaguars defense pretty much stinks.  In their last four games the Jags have allowed an average of 30 points against.  Vince Young and Chris Johnson make a pretty nice offensive duo, and will be able to put up points against Jacksonville.  I look for the Titans defense to step up here and give them a big road win over their division rivals – act on the line quick before it moves… it is currently at -2.5 at!
