Cleveland, OH is the site of Sunday’s AFC battle between the host Browns and visiting New England Patriots. Cleveland is 2-5 on the season (3-4 ATS), while New England is off to a hot start at 6-1 (4-2-1 ATS). The game is set to get underway at 1 PM EST.
New England is white hot right now, with 5 straight wins coming into this game. Last week, the team bloodied Brett Favre and knocked him out of the game, en route to a 28-18 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. The team has been getting it done on offense and lead the NFL with 29.3 points per game. Some of that is attributed to special teams scores, but Tom Brady is also starting to find his groove. After dealing WR Randy Moss 4 weeks ago, Brady has settled in with receivers Wes Welker, Deion Branch and tight ends Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski. Brady has thrown for 1602 yards and 12 touchdowns, with just 4 interceptions. The defense is definitely the area of concern for this Pats team, as they are giving up 384 yards per game, which is 28th in the NFL. They have employed a bend but don’t break style that was a hallmark of their Super Bowl winning teams.
Cleveland comes into the game off of their bye week. Prior to their bye, they upset the Saints in New Orleans in a game that was probably their best played in years. The team has really struggled to put up points this season, as they are averaging just 16.9 per game. This is 31st in the NFL through 8 weeks. The carousel at quarterback has been a big part of the blame for the lack of scoring. The team moved from Jake Delhomme to Seneca Wallace and now to rookie Colt McCoy. At running back, Peyton Hillis has come on and been a real find after being a throw in to the Brady Quinn trade in the summer. He has 460 yards and 5 touchdowns on the season.

Patriots vs. Browns Betting Predictions:
Spread Prediction (TOP PLAY) – The Patriots are firing on all cylinders right now and have a league-best record of 6-1. Cleveland has played a mostly up and down season and really had everything go right for them in their win over New Orleans in Week 7. New England is 19-9 ATS in their last 28 games as a road favorite. Although the results are not that recent, New England has taken the last 4 head to head matchups against the spread.
Game Total Prediction – Tom Brady has a lot of targets to spread the ball around to and has been using them effectively since the team sent Randy Moss packing to Minnesota. Seven of New England’s last 9 games have gone over the posted total. The team also does not play much defense, which is an obvious recipe for some scoring in this game.
