The NFL is set up with another great slate of football throughout Sunday. Thirteen games will be up on the board throughout October 31. One of these matchups will be between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Chargers. These two teams have been strong to open up this season and will look for a huge win. This game will kick off at around 4:05 PM Eastern time.
New England has opened up this season with a record of 3-4, which has them sitting in second place of the AFC East. The Patriots are coming off a dominant win against the New York Jets. Damien Harris and J.J. Taylor both had two rushing touchdowns. Mac Jones also had two passing touchdowns as New England earned a 54-13 win at home.
The Chargers have put up a record of 4-2 to open up the new season, which has them sitting in second place of the AFC West. Los Angeles is coming off their bye week, but had lost to the Baltimore Ravens the week before. The Chargers besides their loss to Baltimore, have looked great this season. Los Angeles will look to bounce back coming out of their bye week.
These two teams are sitting in second place of their division, but Los Angeles has been the better team overall. The Chargers have had some impressive wins and tight losses on the season and will look to get back on track. New England is coming off a blowout performance, but will have a much harder opponent. If either team comes out hot though, it could be enough for the win.

Patriots vs. Chargers NFL Game Preview
The Patriots and Chargers last met up in Week 13 of the 2020-21 season. Cam Newton had a passing touchdown and two rushing touchdowns on the afternoon. New England’s special teams also dominated. The Patriots had a punt return touchdown and blocked field goal for a touchdown. New England was able to secure a 45-0 win in that one.
These two teams have met up 43 times throughout their histories. New England has earned a record of 26-15-2 throughout those matchups. The Patriots have also won their last six games against Los Angeles. New England will look to keep it going in this one. If the Chargers can come out hot though, they could knock off this Patriots team.
The Chargers have a very similar look to when they met up last season. Justin Herbert is still under center and the team looks pretty similar as a whole. New England has a new QB entering this matchup in Mac Jones. The Patriots will look for Jones to step up in a big way in this one as they try to earn another win to get back to .500.

Opening Odds and Line Movement
The spread for this game opened up at -6 in favor of the Chargers. The line for this matchup has dropped down to -5 in favor of Los Angeles with a couple of days before kickoff.
The over/ under in this matchup was listed at 47 ½ points. The total has gone up to 49 points with a couple of days before game time. I think that this total is reasonable with these two offenses going off at times this season.
I think that the spread for this game getting smaller is a bit odd. Los Angeles is coming off a bye and has been the better team overall this season. I would expect the line to get bigger if anything, so as it gets smaller, I think the line is getting better.

Free Bet and Game Prediction: Los Angeles Chargers -5 (-110)
The Chargers are coming off a bye and playing a New England team that has had their number since 2008. I expect Los Angeles to come out hot with a new gameplan though as they look to earn a win against the Patriots. The Chargers have been the better team overall this season and if they can shut down New England’s offense, I think they can win this one.
Justin Herbert has been strong to open up this season. Herbert has thrown for 1771 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions. Herbert also had 72 rushing yards and a touchdown. Mac Jones has been solid this season as well. Jones has tossed for 1779 yards, nine touchdowns and six interceptions. Both Quarterbacks will look to control this game early.
These two teams have been solid to open up this season, which should lead to an exciting matchup on Sunday afternoon. Los Angeles has been better though and I think they will find a way to earn the win at home. The Chargers were embarrassed at home a season ago by New England and I think that will give them extra motivation. Coming off a bye week as well, I like the Chargers chances to cover.
