A battle between two teams from Northern California will be on tap this Sunday. The San Francisco 49ers will host the Oakland Raiders. The 49ers come into the game 0-5 (2-3 ATS), while the Raiders are 2-3 (2-3 ATS). The game will get underway at 4:15 PM EST.
The Raiders are coming into this game with some momentum after snapping a 13 game losing streak versus the Chargers with a 35-27 win last week. The team is 2-3 and were very competitive in their last 2 losses. Oakland runs the ball effectively, ranking 7th in the NFL with 134.2 yards per game on the ground. They are also 11th in the NFL with 22.2 points per game scored. They have, however, struggled on defense this season. The team cannot seem to stop the run, allowing 147.8 yards per game to opponents. They are also giving up 26.8 points per contest, which is 28th in the league. The team can’t seem to settle on a quarterback either as Jason Campbell and Bruce Gradkowski have been alternating at the position.
San Francisco hasn’t mustered a win on the season through 5 games. The team was a chic pick to win the division and make a run in the playoffs this year. So far it has been a disaster and QB Alex Smith has a very loose grip on his job. If this continues, head coach Mike Singletary is likely to be in the same boat. Their biggest problem has been scoring points with just 15.2 points per game, which ranks 31st in the NFL. The team is also giving up 26 points per game, which ranks 27th in the league. QB Alex Smith has been a big part of the problem, throwing 9 interceptions this season, many of them at the worst possible time.

Raiders vs. 49ers Prediction for Betting NFL Week 6:
Spread Prediction (TOP PLAY) – I am a little confused as to how a team that is 0-5 can be a 6.5 point favorite. Look, I get that San Francisco is in a desperate, must-win mode but haven’t they been for a few weeks now? The team has not played well enough to win this season and maybe they just aren’t that good. Their owner believes they will still win the NFC West, but I disagree. This may be the week they get a win, but I’ll take the points until they show me otherwise. It is worth noting that San Fran has just 5 wins ATS in their last 21 in the month of October.
Top Play Prediction: RAIDERS +6.5
Game Total Prediction (TOP PLAY) – Neither team has played much defense this season so the inclination would be to say that a lot of points will be scored. However, neither team has a quarterback who scares you nor some of the lucky breaks Oakland got in putting up 35 last week may not be there. The total has gone under in 7 of the Raiders’ last 9 games against a team with a losing record. Expect a relatively low scoring game in this battle of bumbling quarterbacks.
Game Total Prediction: UNDER 42 points
