New Orleans Saints vs New York Jets NFL Pick – Week 14

The NFL is set up with another great week of action on Sunday. Twelve games are up on the board throughout December 12. One of these matchups will be between the New Orleans Saints and the New York Jets. These two teams have struggled this season, but will look for a big win in this one. This game will kickoff at around 1:00 PM Eastern time.

New Orleans has earned a record of 5-7 throughout this season, which has them in last place of the NFC South. The Saints have lost five games in a row after starting out the season at 5-2. New Orleans is coming off a loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football. The Saints will look for that little extra rest to give them the edge in this one.

The Jets have put up a record of 3-9 so far this season, which has them in last place of the AFC East. New York is coming off a loss in their last game and will look to bounce back in this one. The Jets were dominated by the Philadelphia Eagles last week, losing 33-18. New York will look to come out much faster in this one at home.

These two teams have not had ideal seasons up to this point, but will look for a big win on Sunday afternoon. The Saints have hit a wall as of late, dropping five games in a row. New York was able to win two weeks ago and will look to get back in the win column. If either team can come out fast in this one, it could be enough for the win.

Saints vs. Jets NFL Game Preview

These two teams last met up in Week 15 of the 2017 season. Bryce Petty had a passing touchdown for New York on the afternoon, but it was not enough. Mark Ingram had two rushing touchdowns, while Drew Brees had a passing touchdown to Alvin Kamara. The Saints were able to hold off the Jets to win 31-19 at home.

New Orleans and New York have met up 13 times throughout their histories. The Saints lead the all-time series with a record of 7-6 in those matchups. New Orleans has won three of the last four against the Jets and will look to keep it up in this one. New York will look to tie this series back up with a win in their home stadium.

Both teams have very different looks entering this matchup then the last time they faced off. Drew Brees started the last game for the Saints, while New York had Bryce Petty under center. Zach Wilson is now the starting Quarterback for the Jets, while Taysom Hill will get the nod for New Orleans. Both teams will look to surprise the opposing team with the new look.

Opening Odds and Line Movement

The spread for this game opened up at -3 in favor of the Saints. The line has shifted to -5 for New Orleans with a couple of days before kickoff.

The over/ under for Sunday’s tilt between these two teams started off at 46 ½ points. The total has dropped down to 43 points. This total makes sense with both teams struggling on offense this season.

The spread in this game makes sense with New Orleans having the extra days of rest entering this matchup. The Saints will also look to come out fast as they try to break out of this slump. New York is at home though and will look to get the crowd into it.

Free Bet and Game Prediction: New Orleans Saints -5 (-110)

Both of these teams have struggled on the season, but will look for a fast start in this one. The Saints are coming off an extra few days of rest and will look for a quick start. New Orleans has a much better defense as well and I think it could give them a big edge. If the Saints can grab an early lead in this one, I think they will have a great chance to earn the win.

Taysom Hill will likely get his second straight start for New Orleans in this matchup. Hill passed for 320 yards, 2 touchdowns and 5 interceptions throughout this season. Hill has rushed for 305 yards and 3 touchdowns though. Zach Wilson has thrown for 1539 yards, 6 touchdowns and 11 interceptions this season. He has rushed for 25 yards and 2 touchdowns as well.

The Saints will enter this matchup looking to finally get back in the win column and I think they have a great chance on Sunday. New Orleans is laying five points on the road in this one, but I think that they can cover against New York. If the Saints defense can set the pace early, I like their chances to earn the win and cover.
