New Orleans Saints vs Seattle Seahawks NFL Pick – Week 7

The NFL is set up with another great slate of action throughout Week 7. To close out the week, the New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks will meet on Monday Night Football. These two teams have been up and down to start out the season, but will look for a big win in this one. This game will kick off at around 5:15 PM Eastern time on ESPN.

New Orleans has earned a record of 3-2 to open up this season, which has them sitting in second place of the NFC South. The Saints are coming off a win in their last outing against the Washington Football Team. New Orleans was able to pull away late in that one to earn a 33-22 win. The Saints are now coming off their bye week and will look for a big win in this matchup.

The Seahawks have posted a record of 2-4 to start out this season, which has them sitting in last place of the NFC West. Seattle has lost their last two times out, including a loss on Sunday Night Football against the Pittsburgh Steelers. This will be the Seahawks third straight week on primetime and they will look to finally earn a much needed win to get back in the divisional race.

These two teams have not had ideal starts to the season, but the Saints have been a bit better with a 3-2 record early. Seattle has dropped their last two matchups and with Russell Wilson out, it could get worse. The Seahawks will look to bounce back in this one though. If either team can jump out to an early lead, it could be enough for the win.

Saints vs. Seahawks NFL Game Preview

The last time these two teams met up was in Week 3 of the 2019 season. Russell Wilson had two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns. Teddy Bridgewater had two passing touchdowns. Alvin Kamara had a rushing touchdown and receiving touchdown as well. The Saints were able to win this shootout on the road with a 33-27 win.

These two teams have met 16 times throughout their histories. Both teams have earned a record of 8-8 throughout those matchups as well. New Orleans has won their last two games against the Seahawks entering Monday Night’s tilt. I expect both teams to try and set the pace early in this matchup as they look for a pivotal win.

These two teams looked quite different that last time they met up. Teddy Bridgewater started with Drew Brees out last time for New Orleans. Now Jameis Winston will get the nod at Quarterback. With Russell Wilson out for the Seahawks, Seattle will have Geno Smith start under center. Both QB’s will look to control this matchup early.

Opening Odds and Line Movement

This matchup opened up with a spread of -3 in favor of the New Orleans Saints. The line for this game has shifted to as large as -5 for the Saints a couple of days before kickoff.

The over/ under for this game opened up at 44 points. The total has dropped down to 42 ½ points now. This over/ under makes sense with both offenses a bit inconsistent early in the season.

The spread for Monday Night’s tilt makes sense as well with the Saints coming off a bye week and Seattle missing their starting Quarterback. The Seahawks did not look bad with Geno Smith under center last week though and will look for a big win in this one.

Free Bet and Game Prediction: New Orleans Saints -5 (+100)

The Saints are coming off a bye week and going into Monday Night Football against a beat up Seattle team. New Orleans should be ready to come out strong in this one. The Seahawks are playing their third primetime game in as many weeks. If the Saints can come out strong in this one, I think they can earn a big win to stay in the NFC South race.

New Orleans has Jameis Winston starting under center in this one. Winston has thrown for 892 yards, 12 touchdowns and three interceptions on the season. He has also rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown. Geno Smith will be getting the nod at QB for the second straight week in Seattle. Smith passed for 340 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in last week’s loss.

The spread for this game has New Orleans listed as a -5. This gives a solid edge to the Saints coming off a bye, which I agree with. New Orleans has the edge with Russell Wilson still out. The Saints defense has looked good as well this season and I think they can shut down Geno Smith. If Jameis Winston can come out hot after the bye week, I like New Orleans against the spread on Monday Night.

The Bet
New Orleans Saints -5
