Seahawks Raiders Spread Line and Predictions NFL Week 8

The Seahawks will go to the Black Hole and try to steal a win on the road against a surprising Raiders team. The Seahawks have been playing a lot better than anybody would have ever predicted and the addition of Marshawn Lynch should only help more and more as the season progresses. The Defense continues to surprise me with how well they play. The Raiders are a surprisingly decent team this year and are close to matching their win total from last year. The Raiders behind the legs of McFadden have been pretty good especially on the ground, but their run defense is still really bad. The Seahawks will look to extend their division lead and the Raiders will try to close the gap. Game is set to start Sunday at 4:15 PM EST.

The Seattle Seahawks are in position to win the NFC West. On Defense they continue to be dominant shutting down the run and this is very bad news for the Raiders because their bread and butter are running McFadden and Bush. However for the Seahawks if they can shut the Raiders down early they can get out to an early lead and force the Raiders to play catch up which they are not capable of doing. Mike Williams is a likely candidate for comeback player of the year and has been playing pretty well so far and poses matchup problems for the Raiders. I think the most important piece of this whole team is Lynch if he can be dominant this game will be over very quickly, the Raiders run defense is atrocious and Lynch could and should have his first big game of the season this Sunday.

The Raiders have been as successful so far this season as they have been in a very long time and that is because they are now committed to running the football. McFadden has come alive and really established himself as a productive RB this season and whether it’s Campbell or Gradkowski taking snaps when the running game is doing well it makes their job so much easier. As always with the Raiders their pass defense is good and has been consistent this season and pretty much shut down Kyle Orton last week and I’m sure will look to do the same to Hasselbeck, but unless they find a way to stop the run this could be a long day for the Raiders defense. On Offense it is going to be important to get off to a fast start like they did last week so that Seattle won’t be able to run it a lot.

Seahawks vs Raiders Prediction for Week Eight Betting:

Spread Prediction (Top Play): The Raiders are 12-10 ATS against the Seahawks since 1992 but these Seahawks are pretty good. I like what Hasselbeck has been able to do this season, along with the emergence of Williams and the addition of Lynch will be huge as the season progresses. The Defense has been bend, but don’t break thus far this season and played a great game defensively against the Cardinals last week, they held the running game in check and seem as if they are for real in the NFC. The Raiders are a great running football team, I don’t see them able to be consistent throughout the season with their effort and I like Seattle a lot especially because the Raiders won’t be able to make big throws when they need to.

Prediction: Seahawks +2.5

Game Total: 14 of 22 games these teams have played have gone Over the total. I think both teams will score enough to make this game very competitive and it should make for a great football game. The Raiders do have some receiving weapons on Offense and if they can have some success through the air this game could go a lot different than many people expect it I included. I love the Seahawks to run the football a lot and Lynch to go over 100 yards in this game. I think that a lot of points could be scored in this game if the defenses don’t hold and there is a huge chance that could happen. Both teams aren’t the most consistent teams and could be a shootout.

Prediction: Over 42
