A key NFC West battle will take place in St. Louis on Sunday as the Rams play host to the Seattle Seahawks. St. Louis comes into the game at 1-2 (2-1 ATS), while the Seahawks enter the game at 2-1 (2-1 ATS). Kickoff will take place at 1PM EST.
Seattle has surprised many in the NFL by winning 2 of their first 3 games. They beat San Diego last week at home after getting beat up by Denver on the road the previous week. The Seahawks have done it with big plays on defense and special teams including 2 kickoff returns for touchdowns by Leon Washington last week. Neither the offense nor the defense has been particularly impressive in yards per game, ranking 29th and 28th respectively. QB Matt Hasselbeck has thrown for 623 yards and 4 touchdowns but has been intercepted 5 times. Justin Forsett leads the team in rushing with just 150 yards in 3 games.
The Rams picked up their first win of the season last week after playing some decent football and losing two close games to start the season. St. Louis played a great game at home and knocked off the Washington Redskins handily by a score of 30-16 last week. Rookie QB Sam Bradford has continued to mature early in the season and has thrown for 655 yards and 4 touchdowns but has been intercepted 5 times as many rookies do. The team has amassed just 300 yards per game on offense, good for 24th in the league. The defense is 25th in the league giving up 277 yards per game but has been stingy in allowing just 16.9 points per game.

Seahawks vs. Rams Prediction for Week 4:
Spread Prediction (TOP PLAY) – Seattle has absolutely owned this matchup, winning 10 straight against St. Louis dating back to 2005. With a spread of 1 point you have to like the Rams to win this game straight up in order to take them. The problem with the Seahawks is their road play. They become an absolutely different team away from Qwest Field in Seattle. They have gone just 1-9 ATS in their last 10 away from home. Meanwhile the Rams have looked like a much better team this season than in the past few years and have covered in 2 of 3 matchups this year and could have realistically won all the games they have played. I think they keep up their strong play and Seattle struggles away from home once again.
Game Total Prediction – The total is set just about right in this game based on what the teams have done so far this year. The three Seahawks games have averaged 43 points between the two teams, while there have been an average of 35.3 points per game in the Rams’ 3 contests. The game has gone under in 5 of the Rams’ last 6 games. The Seahawks have seen 5 of their last 7 go under the total following a straight up win. Neither team has done a great job of moving the ball this season nor has there been a share of points scored due to the defenses and special teams. At some point those lucky breaks balance out.
