There are always one or two games I get excited to watch every week. Not only for betting purposes but just as a football fan wanting to see what could be a good game. This is what I see out in Seattle today. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks meet for the first time since 2011. If it feels like these two teams don’t play against one another often, you are right about that. The biggest game between the Steelers and Seahawks was in Super Bowl 40 in Detroit. Like a lot of NFL games, that game was plagued by controversy. On a Ben Roethlisberger rollout he dove for the end zone but came up inches short. Or so we thought, Ben was awarded with the touchdown and the Steelers proceeded to win by a score of 21-10. A bad call was also called on an offensive pass interference earlier in the game against the Seahawks.
Roethlisberger is still in Pittsburgh but there are a lot of new faces everywhere else. Matt Hasselbeck was the Seahawks starter and now of course it’s Russel Wilson. Wilson has experienced the all-time highs of being a quarterback in the NFL and lows. The lowest being the pick he tossed in the Super Bowl. His team this season have been having a low season undoubtedly, entering today with a 5-5 record.
The main thing though is that they are not out of it by any means. They don’t look as good, but the postseason is not out of the equation. Despite what it has seemed like, the Seahawks still have a good defense. Note that they are 2nd in the NFL in yards allowed per game. They’re also allowing under 20 points. The Steelers look attractive catching points. So hold on right there, the Seahawks are still around and they still have a good defense.

Steelers vs. Seahawks Pick:
The Seahawks feel much worse than what they really are. Perhaps it is because they maybe should be 4-6 instead of 5-5. Remember that Detroit game where they got away with one at the end? The Lions who are suddenly turning it around, might look back at that game and realize it may have cost them a postseason spot. But anyways, like I already stated, the Seahawks have a top defensive unit in the NFL still. Don’t lose sight of that, they are 2nd in the NFL. The secondary is old and falling off? Oh come on now, the Hawks are 2nd in the NFL there too, allowing only 207 yards per game.
The offense has been the issue, not the defense. But still, the Seahawks own some top honors offensively, as they are 1st in the NFL in rushing the football. They are also 9th in the NFL in total offense, so Seattle is moving the ball. It is just they haven’t been able to put it all together for a full game, or so it has felt. I think the Seahawks put forth a strong game against the Steelers this afternoon, who are travelling out to Seattle from the east. The Steelers look really attractive catching 3.5. I think the public will be backing Pittsburgh. I see this game as a message to the rest of the league that the Seahawks haven’t fallen off the map just yet.
PICK: SEAHAWKS -3.5 (-110)
