Tennessee at Green Bay
Tennessee holds a 7-5 advantage in the series and the Titans have won four out of the last five, dating back to 2001. The Titans claimed a 47-25 rout of the Packers in the last meeting in 2016. These are two of the hottest teams in the NFL as the Titans have won four out of their last five while Green Bay has rolled to wins in six out of it’s last seven.
Vs. The Spread:
The Titans are 4-1 ATS in their last five games and the total has gone OVER in five of the Titans last six games. The UNDER has been the play in four of Green Bay’s last six games and the Packers are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 vs. the AFC.
|Teams||Spread||Money Line||Total Points|
|Tennessee Titans||+3 (-120)||+130||O 54 (-107)|
|Green Bay Packers||-3 (+100)||-150||U 54 (-113)|
Ryan Tannehill passed for 273 yards and three touchdowns and Derrick Henry carried 24 times for 147 yards and a score as the Titans rolled to a 46-25 win over the Detroit Lions. The Titans scored touchdowns on their first three possessions of the fourth quarter as they rolled up 463 yards of total offense.
The Packers rode running back Aaron Jones and his 145 yards to a 24-16 win over the Panthers as it spelled Green Bay’s 11th win on the season. Aaron Rodgers threw for one touchdown and ran for another as the Packers led 21-3 at halftime.
When the Titans Have the Ball:
Derrick Henry continues to roll up yardage in mammoth amounts as he gets 5.2 yards per carry with an average of 120 yards per game through14 games. Green Bay has been solid against the run all season. So, Dalvin Cook and Minnesota had the top (173) and the third (134) most yards rushing per game on the Green Bay defense as the Packers split the season series at 1-1.
Here is the interesting number that could be convincing enough to pick the Titans – the Buccaneers yielded the second most yards rushing (151) and they routed Green Bay, 38-10. Henry was held to a season-low 60 yards by the Browns in a 41-35 loss three weeks ago. In the last two games, Henry put up an averaged of 182 per game.
Quarterback Ryan Tannehill is underrated overall with 31 touchdown passes against five interceptions. The Titans quarterback has only been sacked 20 times as Tennessee can win the wide receiver matchups with Corey Davis and A.J. Brown on the splits against Packers corners Jaire Alexander and Kevin King. Linebacker Za’darius Smith has 8.5 sacks in the Packers’ seven home games.
When the Packers Have the Ball:
This could be the most incredible year for Aaron Rodgers as he has thrown for 40 touchdowns against only four interceptions as he hasn’t thrown a pick in Green Bay’s last four games. This is abysmal news for a Titans secondary that is rated 29th in the NFL, has been injured nearly all seaso and has given up 297 yards passing in it’s last four.
Davanté Adams has 98 catches for 1,186 yards and 14 touchdowns as he is joining Rodgers with those elite seasons. Marquez Valdez-Scantling could be the real problem here against the porous Tennessee secondary as he averages 19.5 yards per catch. Adoree’ Jackson was back for his first game last week and while he needs to check Adams, but with only 14 sacks and very little pass rush, Tennessee’s defense with be a tale of tumult.
Derrick Henry must control this game; otherwise, Green Bay will put up too much too quick which will make for an easy Packers win.
Winner: Packers (-3) 35, Titans 24
Over-Under: Take OVER 54
