Jacksonville, FL will be the site of this Sunday’s big AFC South matchup between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Houston Texans. Jacksonville come into the game with a 4-4 record (4-4 ATS), while the Texans are also 4-4 (3-5 ATS). Kickoff for this highly anticipated duel is set for 1 PM EST.
The Texans are a team that has played up and down football throughout the 2010 campaign and haven’t won a game since Week 6. Last week, the team blew a lead at home against San Diego and lost the type of game that has been a trademark of Texans’ teams in the past. The team is really struggling on defense, where they are giving up a league-worst 399.5 yards per game. The pass defense has been the biggest problem, giving up almost 300 yards per game through the air, which is also dead last in the NFL. Luckily for Houston, the offense has kept them in most games and won a few for them. Quarterback Matt Schaub has thrown for over 2000 yards on the season and running back Arian Foster has 864 yards rushing.
The Jaguars are coming into this game feeling pretty good about themselves after having a nice week off to rest on their bye week. Prior to that, they pounded the Cowboys by a score of 35-17 and are right in the thick of a tightly packed AFC South. Like Houston, the Jags are a team that has struggled tremendously in trying to stop opponents on defense. They rank 28th in the NFL, allowing an ugly 386.2 yards per game. They are also near the bottom of the league, giving up 28.2 points per game on the season. On offense, the running game has been solid, putting up nearly 130 yards per game, which ranks 8th in the league. The passing game, however, needs to pick up the pace for the Jags.

Texans vs. Jaguars Betting Predictions:
Game Total Prediction (TOP PLAY) – Neither one of these teams has been able to stop anyone on defense so far this season. I would expect a high scoring affair with two decent offenses being able to take advantage of the weak defenses on the field. The total has gone over in 11 of Jacksonville’s last 16 games as a home favorite. Houston has seen 16 of its last 22 games go over the posted total against teams from the AFC south division. Look for some fireworks in this one.
Spread Prediction – Both of these teams have played up and down football this season, just like many others in the NFL this season. Parity has been the theme of the season with teams so tightly packed throughout the year. This should be a closely contested matchup as both teams are only one game back of the division lead. Houston is 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games against Jacksonville. Take the points.
