The Black Hole and the Oakland Raiders will welcome the Houston Texans to town and hope to send them on their way with a loss. The Texans are very concerned with the fact they may not have Andre Johnson against the Raiders on Sunday. Johnson is arguably the best Receiver in the NFL, but if they don’t they still have Kevin Walter and Jacoby Jones to try to pick up the slack along with TE Owen Daniels. Their Defense is much improved and as long as Mario Williams can get some pressure on Bruce Gradkowski they will have a chance to win the game. As for the Raiders on Defense Asomugha is arguably the best Cornerback in the league, which will eliminate one side of the field, but their pass rush isn’t bad either with Richard Seymour on the line, on Offense just keep throwing the ball because there is a chance the Texans 32nd ranked pass defense can’t stop it, if the Raiders play smart and run the football to set up the pass, they could surprise some people.
The Texans are always a sleeper, a team with all the potential in the world, but can’t get over the hump, this season they were able to get off to a great start by beating the Colts in Week 1, but then took a step back after losing to the Cowboys badly. The truth is this is a must win for the Texans for two reasons and that’s because if you want to be talked about as a great team you have to beat the teams that are inferior to you and that is what they are getting in the Raiders, the other reason is because they play in the AFC South and that has been the Colts division ever since Manning arrived. Despite possibly being without Andre Johnson, the Texans are still a balanced team now that they have Arian Foster at running back and the Raiders run defense isn’t very good.
Raiders may have one of the best home field advantages in the NFL it is so hard to play their cause the fans are just so loud. The Raiders have to run the football during this game and must stay committed to it throughout even though it won’t be easy against the 2nd ranked run defense. The Raiders will have to take some shots deep during the game if they want to win. The Texans have taken steps to improve their pass defense, but it’s still terrible. On Defense the Raiders have one of the better pass defense units in the NFL and if Andre Johnson does miss the game that certainly gives them a lot more hope. The key to this game will be the run defense of the Raiders, they must find a way to slow down Arian Foster, and he has shown he can take a game over if you’re too concerned with the pass. Linebacker Rolando McClain looks like he is a keeper in the middle and as long as they can play defense and run the ball they can win this game.

Texans vs Raiders Prediction for Week Four Betting:
Game Total Prediction (Top Play): In the last 2 games over the past 3 seasons both games have been under and this one really could go either way. The Texans are a passing team and love throwing the football as much if not more than any team in the league and the addition of Arian Foster will only make them more dynamic in what they could do. As for the Raiders they aren’t completely a joke on Offense anymore, Darren McFadden has looked very sharp thus far this season and could also have a big day, if Gradkowski can make them respect the pass by airing the ball out to Louis Murphy and Heyward Bey. I feel this will be more of a defensive battle as Schaub won’t be able to pass as much as he is used to. The game may come close to the line, but I can’t quite see it going over.
Spread Prediction: Oakland is 1-1 against the spread against the Texans over the last three seasons. The Raiders will have an opportunity to win this game and is not as lopsided as it may seem on paper. The Texans are loaded on Offense and could be due for an offensive explosion against the Raiders, however it is possible that they overlook the Raiders and this game is closer than a lot think or they get upset by them. The Raiders have got to be feeling terrible about losing to the Cardinals because Janikowski missed a field goal with the game on the line and I think they come out with a little bit of a chip on their shoulder this week. Ultimately I feel as if the Texans want this game a little more because they got embarrassed by the Cowboys at home. In a game where both teams want it and are coming off losses it’s tough, but if the Texans want this year to be the year they go to the playoffs then they realize they have to win this game.
