Though it hasn’t been the start the Seattle Seahawks were hoping for, they still sit with a 4-2 record and their playoff aspirations remain intact. That said, they still need to show a lot more gumption and offensive ability if they are going to be contenders. They’ll host a hungry and rested Houston Texans squad on Sunday afternoon, looking to remain relevant in the AFC South divisional battle. This should be an intriguing showdown, especially with what Texans’ owner Bob McNair said about ‘inmates running the asylum’ earlier in the week. How will his team respond? Read on below the odds to find out – as well as a official betting selection for Week 8 of the NFL.

Texans vs. Seahawks Pick;
First and foremost, the Houston Texans must find a way to stop and/or limit the Seahawks’ dangerous pass rush. It can be lethal, and though Deshaun Watson is as mobile as they come – Seattle will get to him. Additionally, the Seahawks’ secondary and specifically their back seven have definitely established themselves as some of the premier ball-hawks in the NFL. Turnovers and picks could be on the menu for Sunday afternoon. Making matters worse for the Houston offense is the fact that they have become entirely one-dimensional. Right now they just cannot run the football and that will not change in Seattle. Lamar Miller won’t be able to find any open holes or lanes, and as a result look for the Seahawks’ pass D to lock in on Watson and force him into ill-advised decisions.
While Seattle too has some offensive line issues – the Texans are pretty banged up and don’t really have the personnel to take full advantage. As a result, look for Russell Wilson to be able to escape from the pocket and make plays with regularity. Houston also has a knack of letting opposing TE’s just dominate them – so look for Jimmy Graham to turn in a big outing. His name has circulated in trade rumours, though a big performance in Week 8 could make those go away.
I can’t see Deshaun Watson and the Houston offense being all that successful against a stout Seahawks’ defense. They are just suffocating and this will prove to be a big step up for the young rookie. Seattle is on a three-game winning streak – allowing just 33 total points. Their defense keeps them in every game, and look for Russell Wilson to surely be able to get his offense to cover just a touchdown spread. At CenturyLink Field, Seattle is 4-0 against rookie QB’s since 2011, allowing just 179 passing yards per game. I can’t see the Texans scoring into the double digits here – especially with the distraction of their owner Bob McNair looming. Seahawks to cover.
PICK = Seahawks -6.5 (-110)
