Week 14 NFL DFS Picks at FanDuel – December 9th

I did not see Derrick Henry coming on Thursday Night Football. Like, at all. I’m not sure I was alone in the regard, but the guy is wasting away on my bench in a couple of season long fantasy football leagues, so either way I feel the burn.

Fortunately my NFL DFS picks for last week’s main slate were pretty solid. Russell Wilson, Phillip Lindsay and Christian McCaffrey all balled out for you. Courtland Sutton, Adam Thielen, Spencer Ware and the Denver defense were also all mighty fine.

My only real dud for the week was Tyreek Hill. The worst part is he had a sure touchdown slip through his hands. Overall, though, it was a very good week and hopefully you benefited from my daily fantasy football picks.

I’m back to the grind for week 14, where I have a team I love for FanDuel GPPs:

QB: Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints ($8.5k)

There are so many viable fantasy passers to choose from on a loaded week 14 NFL DFS slate. I am very interested in Lamar Jackson and Tom Brady at discounted prices, while it could be fun to go back to Aaron Rodgers in a great matchup at home.

But why get cute? Brees has been amazing this year and after getting stifled in Dallas in week 13, I suspect he and his New Orleans crew will step it up a notch against a bad Buccaneers defense.

Brees lost to Tampa Bay in week one, but he still put up 31 fantasy points. Something similar wouldn’t be shocking, so I feel like Brees is very much worth paying up for in week 14.

RB: Jaylen Samuels – Pittsburgh Steelers ($4.6k)

Samuels will be trying to fill in for the injured James Conner and he’s clearly going to be about as chalky as it gets. Pittsburgh has an awesome matchup against the Raiders, so I have to think he’ll be in line for some yardage and 1-2 scores.

I wouldn’t lie if there was a little hesitance here based on the fact that Pittsburgh could also use Stevan Ridley as well, but the price alone makes him worth the dive.

RB: Alvin Kamara – New Orleans Saints ($8.3k)

Kamara has been a little too quiet lately and if you can’t tell already, I’m Team Saints this week. He’s due to explode and Tampa is not good defensively. That, and he’s topped 30+ fantasy points in all three meetings versus the Bucs.

Oh, and he’s coming in at a discount this week. I see the merit in paying up for Christian McCaffrey and Saquon Barkley, but Kamara is a better value.

WR: Michael Thomas – New Orleans Saints ($8.3k)

I’ll continue my Saints love with MT, who dropped 30 fantasy points the last time he faced the Bucs. This is an awesome matchup and after being quiet lately, I think Thomas is due to explode.

The entire Saints offense should be rocking and rolling this week. Chalky or not, I love them.

I also love Julio Jones at his $8.4k price and Tyreek Hill ($8.2k) could be fairly contrarian against a tough Ravens secondary.

WR: JuJu Smith-Schuster – Pittsburgh Steelers ($7.5k)

Antonio Brown will be the top draw in Pittsburgh’s passing attack, but I love the value I get with JuJu. He’s had some big games this year and Oakland hasn’t exactly been amazing defensively in 2018.

I also like Keenan Allen for $400 more, or you can move things around to get other studs like Julio or Tyreek, as mentioned.

WR: Sterling Shepard – New York Giants ($5.2k)

Odell Backham Jr. <a href=has been ruled out for week 14, so Shepard is firmly on my radar. He really wasn’t before this news broke, but he posted some monster lines without Odell in the lineup at times last year.

At this cheap price and given the Redskins struggle against the pass (28th vs. WRs), I don’t mind rolling the dice. ig you want a cheaper option, DaeSean Hamilton ($4.5k) is a fine try with Emmanuel Sanders (achilles) done for the year.

TE: David Njoku – Cleveland Browns ($5.3k)

Travis Kelce and Zach Ertz are worth paying up for this week, but Njoku has an awesome matchup against Carolina (30th vs. TEs). He hasn’t popped off in a bit, but this is a great matchup for him and I wouldn’t be shocked to see him rack up 70+ yards and 1-2 scores.

Finding value at tight end can be very helpful in the roster building process. Hopefully Njoku can wreck and the top two tight ends underwhelm. That being said, I’d probably get exposure to Kelce and Ertz in most of your lineups.

FLEX: Ezekiel Elliott – Dallas Cowboys ($8.8k)

I love the top stud rushers this week, per usual. Fortunately there is a lot of value to incorporate into your NFL DFS lineups, so it’ll just come down to what your personal preference is.

Zeke has been a straight up monster this year and he’s especially good at home. The Eagles aren’t bad against the run by the numbers, but he did hang 33 fantasy points on them in Philly a few weeks back. He feels like a lock for me on this slate.

DEF: New York Giants ($3.5k)

The Broncos are probably the top defense to eye this week, but I am digging the value associated with the G-Men. They get to face Mark Sanchez and a truly banged up Washington team and I’m not sure they need a better sell than that.
