The puck will be dropping in about two hours for game three of the Stanley Cup Finals and the Philadelphia Flyers are in desperate need of a win tonight on home ice. The Chicago Blackhawks took the first two games of the series at home and if the Flyers want any chance of coming back they’re going to need to try and take both of their games at home. Being down to start the series is nothing new for the Flyers, as they were down 3-0 to the Bruins before coming back in the series and winning it in 7 games.
The Blackhawks are a much better team then the Bruins though, and I just can’t see the Flyers coming back in the series if they can’t win the game tonight. It’s been over a decade since the Flyers have been in the Stanley Cup, so I expect the fans in Philly tonight to be absolutely nuts. The Flyers are going to have it in tough tonight even though they’re going to be at home. The Hawks are going to have a chance to set a new record tonight for the most consecutive victories on the road in the playoffs at eight.
If you missed the opening two games of the series then you missed two very different games. In game one both teams were putting the puck into the net left, right and center. The final score in game one was 6-5 and although exciting for the fans, I’m sure the coaches weren’t that pleased with the performance on defense. The second game in the series ended up with a final score of 2-1, so as you can see the coaches must’ve been stressing defence.
Even with being down 2-0 in the series right now, the Flyers haven’t looked bad. The first game could have gone either way and the second game the Flyers outplayed the Blackhawks for the majority of the game. Niemi stood on his head in game two and if he continues his stellar play then the Flyers might as well pack it in right now. The Flyers coach (Laviolette) said that the Flyers need to put way more pressure on Niemi tonight so that they can get him out of his comfort zone.

Blackhawks vs Flyers Stanley Cup Game 3 Predictions and Betting Picks:
Money Line Pick – Tonight I’m going to go with the Flyers to take game number three in their own barn. The Flyers need to come out and play as if this is a game seven tonight because if they lose the series is done. I don’t think Niemi is going to be as good on the road as he was the other night and if the Flyers can mustard up another 30+ shot performance then I like their chances. The Flyers have done a great job shutting down the Hawks superstars, but they need to limit the mistakes they’ve been committing against the rest of the team. BET ON THE FLYERS (-122)!
Game Total Pick – With game one going way over the total and game two staying way under the total tonight could go either way. I think that the game is going to go over the total tonight with the Flyers taking the game 4-3. I think the Flyers offence will get back on track after being shutdown last game by Niemi and we all no that the Blackhawks are going to score at least a couple goals tonight. BET ON THE OVER (-105)!
