Ducks vs. Predators Game 3 Pick – NHL May 16th

The Anaheim Ducks and Nashville Predators make a change of scenery as Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals turns to Tennessee. Things are about to get wild, with the most rambunctious fan base left in the playoffs getting their chance to shine. No, hockey and Nashville don’t go together like country music and Nashville, but the Predators’ fans have been on fire. This is the first time in many years that sports fans in Nashville have had something to get excited about.

The on-ice product has been shining for the Predators. They did drop Game 2 though, passing up an opportunity to start to choke off the Ducks, heading back to Nashville. Not the case, as the Ducks won 5-3 in Game 2 to tie the series up at one game a piece. The Ducks would have made for dead ducks if they didn’t win Game 2. Game 3 is coming at you live from Nashville. Pekka Rinne has been a rock for the Predators in the postseason, but the floodgates opened wide in Game 2 for him. It was the first time he allowed that many goals in the playoffs. At this stage in the game, goaltending is crucial, it can make or break a team. In rare fashion, Rinne was lit up with the Ducks getting to him.

Kudos to the Ducks for stepping up when they needed it most. It’s what I would consider not the best effort in Game 3 from the Predators, but back at home it’s tough to to against the Predators. Home has been a sanctuary for them, as they’ve gone 29-9-6 in Nashville. The atmosphere in Nashville should be electrifying and I could see the Predators getting something out of it on Tuesday. The Predators take Game 3 which should be a long series.
