The Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings are at Crypto.com Arena for Game 4 of the Western Conference Stanley Cup Playoffs. Edmonton blasted the Kings away for an 8-2 win in Los Angeles in Game 3.

The Oilers struck for 2 goals in the first period and kept the pedal down. Evander Kane scored late in the third frame to complete a playoff hat-trick. Zach Hyman and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins each scored 2 goals.
It’s a good performance anytime the Oilers score 8 goals and Connor McDavid doesn’t find the back of the net. McDavid contributed with 2 assists and 3 shots on goal, so he wasn’t invisible in the Oilers’ win.
Edmonton has a 2-1 series lead going into the fourth meeting at Crypto.com Arena this evening. They can put a stranglehold on the Kings with a winning performance in California tonight.
With a win for the Oilers, the Kings are going to find this awfully difficult to come back. That said, the Oilers have blown chances in the playoffs before. The Kings have to keep their focus and not think about the past.
Jonathan Quick and Cal Petersen were both equally bad for the Kings on Friday night. Quick allowed 4 goals on 17 shots, and Petersen conceded 4 goals on 20 shots. The Kings clearly need much better between the pipes.

Oilers vs. Kings Game 4 Prediction:
The Kings will have to tighten up defensively if they’re going to tie this series up heading back to Edmonton. When the Oilers’ offense is feeling confident, they are tough to stop from scoring.
The Oilers were streaky in the regular season. However, when they were confident in the opposition’s defensive zone, the Oilers were very tough to stop.
Following 14 goals in their last two attempts, I’d certainly say that the Oilers are confident and feeling good at the moment. It isn’t good news for the Kings, who need to find a way to bump them out of their scoring groove.
The best method of attack to beat the Oilers is likely going to have to be going all-in offensively. The Kings must take chances with their offense if they’re going to have a good chance. Edmonton is in too good of form right now for the Kings to do anything else.
Edmonton Oilers vs. LA Kings Betting Trends:
- 7-1 overall in their previous eight games versus a team with a winning record
- 8-2 overall in their previous ten games as a betting favorite on the road
- OVER is 8-1-2 in their previous 11 games on a Sunday
- OVER is 6-1 in their previous seven games after a win
- OVER is 17-5 in their previous 22 games as a betting favorite
- 6-1 overall in their previous seven games
- 5-1 overall in their previous six games versus the Western Conference
- OVER is 4-1 in their previous five games versus a team with a winning record
- OVER is 4-1 in their previous five games after losing by 3 or more goals
- OVER is 4-1 in their previous five games after allowing 5 or more goals
The Oilers scoring at a quick rate isn’t anything new. They are the seventh-best offense in the NHL, with an average of 3.47 goals per game.
Their power play can be very good, as the Oilers are third with a success of 26%. The Kings are 22nd in the league on the penalty kill.
The Kings must find offense tonight if they’re winning and it isn’t that unlikely. LA has scored 3.4 goals per game in their last ten attempts.
Before the 6-0 loss, the Kings had scored at least 4 goals in four of their previous five outings. They have to get back to that form on Sunday night. Gambling and taking chances versus a hot Oilers offense is required.
Expect the Kings to be much more competitive in Game 4. They will come out firing on Mike Smith. Will it be enough for a win? Maybe, but the best play is likely the OVER in Game 4 in LA between the Oilers and Kings.
