Flyers vs Blackhawks Stanley Cup Game 2 Odds Picks and Prediction

The Philadelphia Flyers and Chicago Blackhawks are back at it tonight in Chicago for Game 2 of this years Stanley Cup Finals tonight (Monday, May 31st).  Game time for tonight’s game is set for 8:00 PM EST and it promises to be another exciting game.  In Game 1 both the Flyers and Blackhawks traded goals back and forth all night, before the Blackhawks finally pulled ahead 6-5 for good in the third period.  The story of Game 1 was the contribution both teams got from their third and fourth line players, while the star players didn’t do much on the score sheet.

Philadelphia Flyers goalie Michael Leighton was pulled after giving up his 5th goal on just 20 shots, but Flyers coach Peter Laviolette has announced that he will be starting in net for tonight’s Game 2.  Although Brian Boucher came in and looked solid in his relief of Leighton, it didn’t come as a huge surprise that Leighton would be starting, as he has been stellar all playoffs long.  The Flyers come into this game as big underdogs yet again, and look to even things up at one before heading back to Philadelphia for Game 3 and 4 later this week.  Flyers vs Blackhawks Stanley Cup Finals Game 2 betting odds, picks and my personal betting predictions can be found below!

Flyers vs Blackhawks Game 2 Picks and Predictions:

Money Line Pick – After taking the Blackhawks in Game 1, I am leaning towards the value in the Flyers for Game 2.  The style of play that the Flyers play is hard to defend, and Niemi is the type of goalie who will give out rebounds. The Flyers were crashing the net hard in Game 1 and were rewarded with 5 goals on Blackhawks goalie Antti Niemi.  If Leighton was on his game in Game 1 the Flyers would have easily taken the first game of the Stanley Cup.  I think tonight will be another close game, and there is too much value on the Flyers not to take it – BET THE FLYERS TO WIN (+168).

Game Total Pick – I was spot on with the over 5.5 goals in Game 1, which ended up being 11 total goals scored.  Although the total is now sitting at 6, There is some good value on the over at +105.  The over is now 4-1-1 in the Blackhawks last 5 playoff games as a favorite of -150 to -200 and 8-3-2 in their last 13 games overall.  Look for the energy to be just as high in tonight’s game – BET THE OVER 6 GOALS (+105)
