Lightning vs. Penguins Game 7 Pick – NHL Playoffs

After the San Jose Sharks sent the St. Louis Blues packing last night, the Stanley Cup Finals picture will be complete after tonight. Who will be taking on the Sharks, will it be the Lightning or Pens? I said this will be a long series, and here we are at Game 7. The Penguins got the job done to force this series back to Pittsburgh. The Bolts looked like they hsd stage fright, they sat on their heels while the Penguins completely dictated the flow and energy of the game. It looked like the Lightning were going to comeback, but it was too late at that point, with the better team exiting Game 6 with a 5-2 win.

The Penguins went back to Matt Murray in net and they hit a blackjack. Gone was Fleury who looked rusty in Game 5 and back to Matt Murray, which they should have done to begin with. It paid off, as Murray held his own with Vasilevskiy buckling under the pressure. Two goalies you probably didn’t know about a few months ago will be competing for the rights to go to the Stanley Cup Finals. The question is going to be who steps up and delivers in the clutch. I provide some additional thoughts below with my pick for Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Pittsburgh Penguins NHL Playoffs Pick

Regardless of what happens tonight, lets give big credit to the Lightning. They are without two of their top best players. That being, Stamkos and Bishop. To go seven games with the Pens is impressive, we cannot deny that. They will have a chance to make it even more impressive with a win in Pittsburgh. The Penguins are heavily favored to get the job done, we’ll see if they can keep their composure and don’t choke this game and series away.

One thing is true, there has been a plethora of goals in this series. There has been 7 goals scored in each of the last three games of this series. The Bolts and Pens have always been teams to light the lamp when they link up. The OVER has gone 21-4-3 and is 12-3-2 in their last sixteen meetings in Pittsburgh. I expect nerves tonight from Vasilevskiy and Murray. Great value on there OVER here at plus money in my opinion.

PICK: OVER 5.5 GOALS (+120)
