The New Jersey Devils and Vegas Golden Knights are scheduled to meet at T-Mobile Arena on Monday night. This is a season of disappointments for the Devils and Golden Knights.

The Devils would love to be where the Golden Knights are right now, but Vegas did not expect to have to fight for a spot in the playoffs. This was supposed to be easier for the Golden Knights in April.
Vegas is going into Monday night with a record of 41-30-5 and 87 points. On Saturday, they are coming off a big 4-0 loss against the Edmonton Oilers. This was a nice spot for the Golden Knights to earn a potential confidence boost, but came up well short.
The Golden Knights have been eliminated from the divisional race in the Pacific Division. Three teams have clinched a playoff berth in the Western Conference, leaving the Knights in a tight race down the stretch.
The Devils haven’t been close in the playoff race for yet another season. There were many that had the Devils as a trendy pick. If a record of 26-42-7 and 59 points is trendy, then yeah, sure.
They are second-last in the NHL, and it goes without saying that there won’t be any postseason for the Devils. It’s not what the Devils had in mind.
Jack Hughes was the No. 1 pick of the 2019 draft. He’s already an All-Star and 23-year-old Nico Hisschier is one of the more underappreciated players in the league.
This team isn’t talent-less, so there were some expectations. Solid depth is required to have success in the NHL, which is something the Devils don’t have yet.

Devils vs. Golden Knights Prediction:
The Devils are going to have to look for defensive help in the offseason. That includes free agency and the draft.
They can’t go cheap on trying to fix their defense or the same issues are going to persist. The Devils are 28th in the NHL in goals against entering tonight.
The Devils have allowed an average of 3.64 goals per game this season. There has been no recent fix for the Devils.
In their last ten attempts, the Devils have given up 4 goals per game. This has been consistent with their work on the road in 2021-22.
They have allowed 3.92 goals per game on the road. Don’t expect much relief for the Devils on the road at T-Mobile Arena.
New Jersey Devils vs. Vegas Golden Knights Betting Trends:
- 0-4 overall in their previous four games versus the Pacific Division
- 12-40 overall in their previous 52 games as an underdog
- OVER is 4-0 in their previous four games versus the Pacific Division
- OVER is 10-4 overall in their previous 14 games as an underdog
- OVER is 7-3-1 in their previous 11 games on a Monday
- 7-3 overall in their previous ten games
- 6-2 overall in their previous eight games as a betting favorite
- OVER is 6-0 in their previous six games at home
- OVER is 5-1 in their previous six games after a loss by 3 or more goals
- OVER is 4-1 in their previous five games as a betting favorite
The Golden Knights are likely going to find room to score against the Devils tonight. This is a nice spot for the Knights to get their offense going after a shutout.
Despite the 4-0 loss, the Golden Knights have buried 3.9 goals per game in their previous ten attempts. At T-Mobile Arena, the offense has been in fine form with 3.37 goals scored per contest.
While the Devils are giving up a bunch of goals, they’ve been fun to watch recently. New Jersey has netted 3 goals per game in their last ten games.
Consider the OVER in this NHL matchup tonight. The OVER has hit four times in five outings for the Golden Knights. After a slow performance in Edmonton, expect this one to be more up-tempo versus the young Devils.
