Hey there everyone, we are ready to start another week in the NHL. With the regular season winding down the playoff picture in both conference is beginning to get a little clearer. Tonight there are only two NHL games but they are big games for the Rangers and the Kings. I have selections for both games tonight and we are going to start this week with a couple of winners.
NHL Betting Picks For Tonight:
Boston Bruins vs. New York Rangers
Boston currently sits in 3rd place, and most likely will finish the season there. They have clinched the Northeast division and only have an outside chance of catching Washington or Philadelphia for 1st or 2nd in the conference. The Bruins have posted a 6-2-2 record over their last 10 games, and seem to be playing solid all around hockey as of late. The New York Rangers on the other hand are battling for their playoff lives currently. A huge win yesterday over the Flyers (3-2 in a SO) helped the Rangers a lot, though they are still not out of the water. Carolina sits just 2 points back of the Rangers for 8th place in the Eastern conference, with each team having 3 games remaining. The Rangers have been playing very well of late posting a 7-2-1 mark over their last 10 games. I look for this game to be a tight checking for both teams. All 3 games this year have been decided by 1 goal, with only 11 goals being scored in the 3 contests. With the Rangers playing a back-to-back situation we have to look at the under in this game. Though the total is set at 5, the under has gone 21-8-2 in the last 31 match ups, and 5-1-1 in the last 7 at MSG. We will go with under 5 on this game.
PICK = BOS/NYR under 5 (-105)
Los Angeles Kings vs. San Jose Sharks
Two of the hottest teams in the NHL meet up tonight in San Jose. The Kings enter tonight with a 7-2-1 record over their last 10, while San Jose has posted a 7-1-2 mark. The Sharks currently sit in 3rd place in the West, just 1 point behind 2nd place Detroit. San Jose has been getting victories in the games they are supposed to as of late, as they are 17-5 in their last 22 games as a favorite. The Kings sit tied for 4th in the West with the Phoenix Coyotes at 96 points. In all likelihood the Kings will finish in the 4th 5th or 6th position, but will be tested in the playoffs without star Anze Kopitar. An injury to any top player hurts a team, but an injury to a superstar forces everyone else on the team to step up. The Kings have come together following the injury and appear to want to prove any doubters wrong. Los Angeles has taken 3 out of 5 from the Sharks this year but I look for the Sharks to even up the season series tonight. We will go with the Sharks on the moneyline as moderate favorites tonight against the Kings.
PICK = San Jose Sharks (-165)
Good luck to everyone tonight and we will be back tomorrow with more winners.
