NHL Picks for May 3rd – Canucks Predators

I went a perfect 2-0 in my last April 29th NHL picks write up, which included the Lightning as big +166 underdogs in Washington.  I look to keep it up providing you with more winners tonight.  I have been rock solid in the NHL this season, and look to finish off the year with more profits.

Tonight we have two NHL games on the betting board, with an early Capitals vs Lightning game in Tampa and then the later game between the Canucks and Predators in Nashville.  Today’s NHL picks post is going to focus on the later game, as I have just one free play here tonight.

NHL Pick for Tonight:

Vancouver Canucks @ Nashville Predators – PREDATORS TO WIN (+115)

Yup, I have the Predators going up 2-1 against the NHL’s best team in the regular season.

We’ve seen it in game 1 and 2 – the Predators can stick around with the Canucks (especially when Rinne plays the way he has between the pipes).  Rinne, a Vezina Trophy finalists, has a .927 SV% on the season and a 2.17 GAA with 38 wins.

Nashville is a team that is confident right now, winning 14 of their last 20 games and 4 of their last 5 home games.  Also note Nashville is allowing just 2.25 goals against per game at home on the season.

Although they played poorly in Game 1 being outshot 30-20 the Predators had a chance to tie the game late, with Weber missing a wide open net in the last minute of play.  In Game 2 the Predators outshot the Canucks 46-33, and won it 2-1 after tying it up late in regulation time.

Note that the Canucks are 0-4 in their last 4 playoff games as a small to medium sized favorite of -110 to -150, and they are just 6-16 in their last 22 Conference Semifinal games. In their 3 road playoff games this postseason the Canucks are 1-2, which included a 7-2 loss in Chicago.

Despite a large majority of the public money coming in on Vancouver we see the line sitting around where it opened, as us sharp bettors know that Nashville has the momentum here and will be riding their home crowd that is said to be one of the loudest in the NHL.  The Predators are the type of team that can shut down the Canucks offensively and control the game.

Im on the Predators moneyline at +115 tonight as they take a 2-1 series lead.  Good Luck!
