Penguins vs. Lightning Game 6 Pick – NHL Playoffs

The Tampa Bay Lightning may have flipped this series on its head. In an effort to stay in this series, the Lightning staged one of their biggest comebacks against the Pens in Game 5. The Lightning are alive and well, and feeling pretty good about themselves. The Pens jumped out to a 2-0 lead, blew that, then blew a late 3-2 lead and lost within minutes in overtime. Buckle up, here we go. Again, I am writing from Vegas so I am keeping these articles condensed this week.

The Pens made gave Marc-Andre Fleury the start and he looked shaky as ever. I said that the other game was not Murray’s fault, the Pens did not have to go to Fleury in the last game. Fleury showed plenty of rust which ultimately sullied the Penguins chances to take a stranglehold on this series. It wasn’t to be, as the Lightning ended the contest quickly in overtime. Tonight we head to Florida for a mega important Game 6. I will say this, home ice has proven go be pretty irrelevant. Road teams have been winning at a fairly nice clip. Let’s get straight to our pick now.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Tampa Bay Lightning NHL Playoffs Pick

I see a total of 5.5 in this game tonight. You won’t find any 5.5 totals in the playoffs, but here we are. Actually, this season, we have not seen many totals this high. The oddsmakers have taken note, and posted a total of 5.5 for this one. I can’t say I disagree with them. The Lightning and Pens have been pouring the goals on.

The oddsmakers are not confident in Fleury. If they were, this would be a total of 5 but instead they bumped it to 5.5. Looking at past matchups in this series would point to the same thing. They have combined for 6, 7, and 7 goals in the past three matchups. There isn’t any reason to expect anything different from these two teams. Fleury is in a tough position, this isn’t when you want to be shaking rust off, against an offense like the Lightning. I expect more goal scoring so give me the OVER 5.5.

PICK: OVER 5.5(+105)
