Predators vs. Ducks Game 2 Pick – NHL May 14th

The Nashville Predators and Anaheim Ducks continue their Western Conference Finals showdown tonight for Game 2. The Predators eked out a win in Game 1 to steal home ice advantage from the Ducks. They’ll be looking for more tonight to take both in Anaheim. The Ducks really have to win tonight. There is no way I see them getting two games in Nashville. It’s quite the electric atmosphere in Nashville, and probably the best left in the NHL Playoffs.

You may not necessarily associate Nashville with hockey, but if they have a good team, the environment can be pretty eccentric. With this said, it’s not going to be an easy place for the Ducks to win two games, which I think they’re going to need to do if they lose tonight. The Edmonton series seemed to take something out of the Ducks, who looked slower than the Preds.

However, for much of the Oilers’ series they looked slower but found a way to get out of the series alive. Nashville have a little more experience than the Edmonton roster, though. So in tight moments, like we saw in Game 1, it’s not going to be so easy against the Preds. Head below to get our thoughts and Predators vs. Ducks Game 2 pick.

Nashville Predators vs. Anaheim Ducks Game 2 Pick

If you didn’t watch Game 1, we can summarize it pretty easily. The stars of the game from we watched were the goaltenders. John Gibson did all he could do to help the Ducks out, but it wasn’t enough. Gibson faced 46 shots in Game 1 and most notably came through in a big way when he had to fend off a 5-on-3 attack from the Predators.

Pekka Rinne was forced to make save after save, too. Especially in the 3rd period when the Ducks were coming on strong in the final 5 minutes. Both the Predators and Ducks had double-digit scoring chances. It was an exciting game with end-to-end action but the puck somehow stayed out of the net several times. I can see this game opening up a bit more, with the pucks finding the back of the net and those scoring chances turning into actual goals instead of near-misses. Our Game 2 pick in Anaheim is on the OVER.

PICK: OVER 5 (-115)
