Predators vs. Ducks Game 7 Pick – NHL Playoffs April 27th

Another seventh game in the NHL tonight, as the Nashville Predators and Anaheim Ducks square off in Game 7 of their competitive series. The Preds are heavy underdogs to pull the upset, but they have already pulled two upsets on the Ducks’ pond to start the series. The Predators got off to a nice start, bringing the series to 2-0 in a flash, the Ducks didn’t know what hit them. It looked like it was going to another short stay for the Ducks in the playoffs. However, instead of bending and folding up, Anaheim returned the favor on the road in Nashville. The Ducks couldn’t close this series out in the last game, so here we are in Game 7, a game which should be as close as the series.

In the first seventh game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Blues narrowly escaped the Chicago Blackhawks last night. The Blues once again blew a 2 goal lead, but rallied to take the 3-2 victory. It was as close as two goal posts for the Hawks, as a shot from the point deflected not off just one post, but both, as the Blackhawks pulled off a 7-10 split with the puck and goal posts. Too this wasn’t bowling, because it doesn’t count for anything in hockey.

The Ducks started the year off so slowly, and have been picking up steam and hot ever since. However, it’ll be all for nothing if they lose tonight at home. The Ducks are the convincing favorites, with the current price at -160. Nashville have been chokers themselves in the past, but they have never been heavily favored as the Ducks through the years. The Preds got a standout performance from Pekka Rinne in game 6, forcing this series back to Anaheim where it’s do or die for both teams. Rinne hasn’t been nearly as impressive this season, but just like that in two games, he can steal a series for the Preds. Let’s get to the pick and see where this game is heading tonight.

Nashville Predators vs. Anaheim Ducks NHL Playoffs Pick

Rinne has been so clutch for the Predators over the years. Really the MVP of the team taking them so far. But it hasn’t been Rinne’s show this year, or the defenses for that matter. For a team that has relied so heavily on their defense, they’ve been more of an offensive team. Once Barry Trotz left for Washington the offense opened up for the Predators. There is a consequence of that, as the Preds’ defense hasn’t been as proficient since he was fired. Nevertheless, the defense and Rinne is responsible for getting this series to a seventh game. The Preds have a 3-2, 3-2, and 3-1. It’s been a consistent effort for them when they’ve been winning games.

The offense just wasn’t there for them in the losses, posting 3-0, 4-1, and 5-2 losses. The Ducks and Predators are two, big physical teams. The Ducks have that unique blend of skill, size, and power to make them one of the best teams in the league? I think physicality and strength is going to be the name of the game tonight in Anaheim. This has the makings of another 3-0 or 3-1 final score. Don’t sleep on the Preds, because I see them having a shot of pulling a fairly big upset. But my bet tonight is going to ride with the defense and goaltending, a result which should cash a ticket on the UNDER 5.
