Calgary has clinched the division and have little to play for as far as the regular season is concerned now. Staying in good form and healthy is the most important goal for the Flames at this point.
They are going into Saturday with a record of 48-20-10 and 106 points. The Colorado Avalanche are well ahead for the top seed in the West. They have a ten-point advantage on the Flames for first in the Western Conference.
The Flames are coming off a 4-2 win over the Dallas Stars two days back on Thursday. It was a nice response following a 3-2 loss in a shootout at Nashville.
The Canucks are coming off back-to-back losses against the Ottawa Senators, 4-3 SO, and Minnesota Wild, 6-3. This was a step back for the Canucks after they won six straight games.
Vancouver is going into this one with a record of 38-29-11 and 87 points. They are on life support with their playoff quest nearing an end soon.
Those two losses were a kill shot to the Canucks, who did well to at least make it interesting after hiring Bruce Boudreau. I don’t see his team going down without trying..

Canucks vs. Flames Prediction:
The Canucks should go down swinging this season. Bruce Beaudrou isn’t going to allow the Canucks to go down quietly.
Before he took the head coaching job, the Canucks didn’t show much pride. However, they’ve been handling things better since Travis Green was fired.
Green was fortunate to last that long with the Canucks. There wasn’t much going well for the Canucks towards the end of his tenure.
Vancouver has been much more active offensively under Beaudreau. In their previous ten outings, the Canucks have scored 4.3 goals per game going into Calgary.
Vancouver Canucks vs. Calgary Flames Betting Trends:

The Flames have been too hot offensively this season. Even if it’s a good night for the Canucks, it could be tough on the Flames. Across their last ten outings, the Flames have notched 4.1 goals per game.
At home this season they’ve scored 3.73 goals per game and overall the Flames are sixth in the NHL in scoring. Jacob Markstrom who has given the Flames a big lift between the pipes will not be active tonight, though.
Markstrom is receiving a rest in this one, as Daniel Vladar will assume the starting duties. Vladar has a 2.71 GAA and 0.906 save percentage going into the Saddledome tonight.
Look for this one to see some goals from both sides. There have been at least 7 goals scored in three of their last four meetings. Expect a 4-3 or 5-2 final score in Calgary at the Saddledome tonight.
