  • Distance:5 ½ Furlongs
  • Purse: $13,000

The first race at Golden Gate Fields is a $13,000 event covering 5 ½ furlongs on the synthetic track. Look for Sting like a Bee and Union Boy to likely get involved in the stretch.

Sting Like a Bee is winless in nine attempts in his career. This looks like a fine chance for him to do some damage, though.

In his last three, Sting Like a Bee finished 6th, 3rd, 7th in three events. He showed 3rd on March 20 two races back in a $13,500 event.

This was a good showing for Sting Like a Bee, but he regressed to 7th for $13,500. He’s capable of a lot better and should bounce back.

Union Boy doesn’t have a win in four career starts. Despite going winless, this race is settling up well for Union Boy.
He is coming off a 3rd place showing on November 5 in a $10,500 event. After a layoff and Union Boy sharp in workouts, he should be in form to win on Saturday.

  • Purse: $14,000

The second race at Golden Gate Fields covers 5 ½ furlongs on the synthetic track for a $14,000 purse. Simply Perfect and Breaking the Code are likely contenders.

Simply Perfect is 3 for 23 and she should carry on well in Race 2. In her last three attempts, Simply Perfect finished 6th, 1st, 3rd, so a mixed bag.

Two races back, Simply Perfect had the upperhand with a half-length win in a $13,000 event. That was a nice run, but she dropped to 3rd in a $14,000 assignment.

Breaking the Code is 4 for 24 and on well for a good performance today. The mare has finished 5th, 2nd, 3rd in her previous three assignments.

She placed 2nd behind Jenpirestrikesback by a nose for $14,000. This was a nice try and then showed 3rd on March 12 most recently in the same grade.

Breaking the Code should have just enough to edge away from Simply Perfect.

Hayden’s Angel is 5th, 2nd, 5th, 3rd, 4th in five career races. She has the potential to get home for the first time.

Hayden’s Angel showed 3rd in a $13,500 event on February 19 and then 4th for a $14,00 prize on March 12.

La Popis is winless in five races and showed 3rd in back-to-back attempts going into Saturday. In her latest outing, she showed 3rd for a $13,500 assignment.
