Tulane Green Wave vs. Cincinnati Bearcats Pick – NCAA Football Week 13

The Tulane Green Wave and Cincinnati Bearcats meet in Clifton on Black Friday at noon under huge implications. The winner will host the AAC Championship and has a chance of going to a New Year’s Six bowl game. We have our latest Tulane vs. Cincinnati predictions and best bets for Friday afternoon.

Note that this is a nationally televised matchup on ABC. There are some good games on Friday, with Tulane and Cincinnati a headliner early in the day. Plenty of college football fans will take a pass on this one, but it should be a good one.

This is the biggest game in Tulane football history in a long while. They have not been this relevant since the 1949 season in the SEC. It would be a historic moment if the Green Wave beat the Bearcats and go on to win the AAC.

The last time Tulane beat an AP Top 25 team was in 1984 against Vanderbilt. They had a chance at home against UCF on November 12, but came up short in a 38-31 loss. The Green Wave will try again, which could set up a rematch against the Knights.

The Green Wave are coming off a 59-24 win over SMU this past weekend. Tyjae Spears ran for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns on 9.3 yards per attempt. Michael Pratt was sharp, too, with 3 touchdown passes on 9 of 14 completions.

Cincinnati is fresh off a 23-3 win over the Temple Owls. They’ve won three in a row since losing to UCF on October 29. The Bearcats want a rematch against Central Florida, as well.

Tulane and Cincinnati both enter at 9-2 and have had a similar blueprint to get here. No one should overlook this game if they are a college football fan. Head below for our Tulane vs. Cincinnati best bets and betting pick for November 25, 2022.

Tulane vs. Cincinnati Predictions

Tulane has been one of the best college football bets this season. The Green Wave are 9-2 against the spread. That is impressive stuff to go 9-2 overall and 9-2 ATS.

Conversely, the Bearcats are 9-2 overall, but have covered just three games. They just want to win games, but have not been winning money at the sportsbook.

Cincinnati Still Has A Defense, But Not As Explosive Offensively

The Bearcats were able to reach the College Football Playoff behind a pretty solid balanced attack. If you recall, they had Desmond Ridder at quarterback, who helped give the Bearcats a good lift.

They just aren’t as consistent in moving the ball as they were a season ago. Cincinnati was delivered a blow to their offense in the win over Temple. They got the win, but lost their starting quarterback in the process.

BEN BRYANT OUT, EVAN PRATER IN
Bryant passed for 21 touchdowns and 7 interceptions on 61.% completions this season before going down. It happened at the worst time possible with a trip to the AAC Championship on the line.

Prater entered the game and played well enough. He passed for 127 yards on 70.4% completions. The backup also ran for 24 yards on the ground.

This might be Prater’s time finally. He waited patiently behind Ridder last season, and then lost the quarterback battle to Bryant in the summer. Prater can make a name for himself at home on Black Friday.

Tough Matchup For Inexperienced Quarterback

Tulane is not the defense that Cincinnati wanted to see for Prater. He has been at Cincinnati for three years, but has only completed 23 passes on 36 attempts. Prater had a warm-up off the bench against Temple, but this isn’t the Owls.

The Green Wave are 27th in the country defensively. They have allowed 336.7 yards per game going into Friday. Tulane has been particularly strong in the secondary, with 189.5 yards allowed through the air per game.

Cincinnati has not had much of a rushing game this season. Bryant has been most of the offense in 2022. The Bearcats are 98th in college with 127.9 rushing yards per game.

Tulane vs. Cincinnati Betting Pick:

The Green Wave defense should have the advantage over the Bearcats in this one. Unfortunately for Cinncinati, they will have to deal with Michael Pratt and Tyjae Spears.

If there is any area Tulane can exploit against the Bearcats, it is against the run. They are 47th with 134.9 yards against per game. Spears should be the leading offensive performer on Friday.

He is going into this game with 996 yards and 12 touchdowns on 6.4 yards per attempt. He has also caught 19 receptions for 223 yards and 2 scores.

It helps to have the steady arm of Pratt taking care of the ball, as well. Pratt has passed for 20 touchdowns and 4 interceptions on 65.4% completions. He has also scampered for 9 touchdowns on the ground.

Our Tulane vs. Cinncinati prediction is a 26-23 win and cover for the Green Wave.
