If there were such thing as a sports betting Mecca or Holy Land on the internet, there is no doubt that it would be 5Dimes. Boasting an impressive 15 years in the industry, 5Dimes has been and continues to be one of the most trusted and reputable books on the web. Not only are they reputable, but their variety of offerings, line competitiveness, and bonus programs are phenomenal and create an insanely awesome environment for recreational or serious sports bettors.
In addition to the sports betting offerings, the site does have casino games and slots to satiate any need to gamble it up while making your picks or watching games. While it’s clear that sports betting is the main focus of 5Dimes, their casino offerings are nothing to scoff at. We will definitely make sure to cover this side of the site in our review for all of our true gamblers at heart.
Now, for those of you rolling your eyes and thinking this review is just a big puff piece on the site, you can let your pupils roll back into place. Anytime we review a site, we like to get out our shovels and dig for anything that can be improved upon or might not be up to our standards. We are definitely going to cover some stuff that we’d like to see with the site and would need from them for a higher grade review.
Brief spoiler alert, regarding the sportsbook there isn’t much they could be doing better. There are a few things we’re going to nitpick at, but for the most part, it’s king on the web right now. The other areas of the site have a few more things we’d like to see improved upon, but for the most part, everything looks great. We just wanted to make sure you knew we weren’t just blowing fairy dust and rainbows up your butts but were actually looking to give an honest review that you can take to the bank.
US Customer Friendly?
There’s really no better way to put it than to say that the 5Dimes Sportsbook is one of, if not THE best on the internet. Clearly the bread winner and flagship of the site, their sportsbook is loaded with everything you think you could want and then more. It’s always easy to see when a site puts a lot of time, money, and effort into a certain part of their site. Clearly, 5Dimes has done this with their sportsbook. The variety of games you can bet on is HUGE including your popular games as well as many obscure sports you might not have even known bets were offered for. Did you know you could bet on competitive eating contests? Did you know you could bet on the Puppy Bowl? What about betting on politics? All of these and more are offered at 5Dimes which is easily the most inclusive list we’ve seen to date.
5Dimes also has a lot of promotions specific to their sportsbook including reduced juice bets. We’re going to walk you through all of their promotions shortly. You’ll quickly see how having dedicated sports betting promotions instead of just casino wide promotions is lightyears better for you. We’re also going to touch on the importance of reliability and third party auditing and how 5Dimes is utilizing these to create a much better gaming experience for bettors of all skill levels.
Sports You Can Bet On
What we’re showing you here is just a snapshot of the multitude of events and sports you can bet on through 5Dimes. This list grows as new events are added or as seasonal or one-time a year events are happening. If there is something you want to bet on but don’t see it here, we HIGHLY recommend logging into the site and taking a look because they’re probably offering action on it. If they aren’t, you can send them a message, and there’s a good chance they can get something put together for you if the demand is there.
Types of Bets Offered
Within all of the sports and events listed above (and the ones that aren’t), there is a multitude of different bet types that you can use when making your picks. As you’ll quickly see, they have tons of different options which give you maximum freedom and flexibility to leverage your predictions and make some serious cash. These bet types range from the most common to some of the more complex options available.
While this isn’t a strategy article, we’re going to drop a freebie for you.
The complexity of the bet has nothing to do with the odds payout that you will receive. A lot of people might try and convince you that the more complex bets pay better. This is not true.
Some of the most successful sports bettors in the world use the most basic of bets to get the job done.
No charge for that tip *wink*
This is by, and far the most common type of sports bet that you can make. With a straight bet, you will be picking the winner of the game, fight, or match. Some sports will allow you to pick a winner based on a point spread or on a moneyline where you will get paid more for underdogs winning and less for favorites.
Some sports will be offered strictly on the moneyline and pay out accordingly. The juice or house take on straight bets is consistent with that of any other online sportsbook or brick and mortar casino/bookmaker. They do occasionally offer reduced juice bets that are way better than anything you will get anywhere else. We will talk about these in full shortly as they may be the biggest perk of the 5Dimes sportsbook.
This type of sports bet has nothing to do with who wins or loses the game but has to do with how many points are scored by BOTH teams. Again, 5Dimes follows the industry standard in regards to juice but does also offer reduced juice bets which should be pounced on whenever you get the opportunity.
5Dimes allows you to parlay several bets together. Parlay is just a cool way to say a group of bets that are tied into one single bet. A standard parlay requires you to win every bet on your slip, or you lose the entire bet. As this is more challenging to do, the sportsbook will pay much higher returns than with a standard single bet.
5Dimes pays out BETTER than the industry average on their parlays. They pay 13/5 instead of 5/2 on a two-teamer and this continues up the ladder.
Here’s the list of parlay payouts for football and for basketball. As you’ll see, you’re getting paid slightly better than you would at most other sportsbooks. This slight increase in payouts will go a LONG way towards increasing your bottom line.
Parlay Payouts for Football and Basketball
All payouts are based on odds of -110
|# of Teams||Parlay Payoff|
5Dimes also gives you the option of open parlays, progressive parlays, and multi-chance parlays.
An open parlay allows you to leave open slots in your parlay when you first create the betting ticket. This is great if you have some picks you want to go with now but aren’t sure on some that you may want to add later. The site allows you to fill these empty slots one at a time or all at once, whichever you prefer.
Progressive parlays do not require you to win every bet on your slip. There will be a threshold of games you have to win to start receiving winnings. Any wins over that threshold will result in higher payouts. 5Dimes does treat ties as incorrect picks when it comes to their progressive parlays.
Multi-chance parlays are the same as progressive parlays except that once you cross the winning threshold, you have maxed out your profits. You will be paid the exact same if you get every pick correct or just barely click over the threshold. These multi-chance parlays are fantastic for entertainment reasons as if you lose your first game in a normal parlay, your ticket is dead, and there’s no reason to worry about the other games. The Rolling-If-Bet option is available for these parlays to use your winnings to make more bets.
Teaser bets are a lot like parlays except that all of the lines are going to be shifted in your favor. This makes all of your bets easier to win as you will be getting more points than you would with a normal parlay or straight/totals bet. With normal teasers at 5Dimes, you have several options of types of teasers including Ties Reduce Teasers, Ties Win Teasers, Ties Lose Tease, and Vegas Teaser rules.
For those players that want to use Vegas Teaser Rules, you must contact support to enable this on your account. They will be happy to do it, though.
5Dimes also gives you the option of open teasers, progressive teasers, and multi-chance teasers. These work exactly the same as they are described for parlays but just with teasers. The only difference is that open teasers are only able to be placed via the website. Open parlays are able to be done via the website or over the phone. Just to make sure this is clear, you can still make these bets through the mobile website. We’re only talking about actually dialing up the sportsbook and talking to an agent :)
Pleaser bets are the exact opposite of a teaser bet. Instead of all the lines shifting in your favor, they shift against you. Why on Earth would you want to place this bet? Well, the payouts are adjusted as well and are a lot bigger. You might utilize a bet like this when you see several lines that you think are off by several points. It’s a risky play but can pay off big if you’re right. 5Dimes offers progressive pleasers and multi-chance pleasers which operate the same as the above examples.
Reduced Juice Bets
This perk with 5Dimes is so good we felt it deserved its own dedicated section. As a bonus, the site will offer reduced juice bets on random games and events for you to take advantage of. This means that the sportsbook is going to be taking less money for themselves which leaves more for you to keep. The reduced juice bets we saw were moneyline bets that were -105 instead of -110.
This means that if you bet $100 without the reduced juice bet, you stand to profit $90.91. With the reduced juice bet, a correct pick will get you a profit of $95.24. It may only look like $5, but that will add up over time or will add up one time if you’re betting more than $100 on a game.
To be honest, when we first read about these we expected them to be on the silly obscure sports or bets that no one cared about to try and entice action. Surprisingly, they actually put these on the popular sports and on bets that there’s a good chance you would be making already. Even if you choose to do your betting somewhere else, we highly recommend getting an account just to look for these opportunities.
In-Game Wagering | Live
Something that is hit or miss with a lot of online sportsbooks is whether or not they offer any form of live in-game wagering. In-game wagering is exactly what you might guess that it is; it’s the ability to place bets in real-time AFTER the game or event has already started. 5Dimes offers in-game options on a whole host of sports with the odds and bet options being updated either on commercial breaks or in between rounds of combat sports. The great part about in-game wagering is that it adds a whole new layer of excitement as well as more money making opportunities. The chance to find bad lines and positive expected value bets go through the roof.
5Dimes offers three different formats of in-game wagering including Live In-Play Wagering, Live Betting Ultra, and Live Betting Extra. It looks like these three options are all very similar, but each is tailored to a specific group or type of bettor.
Live In-Play Wagering is 5Dimes “classic” or standard form of in-game betting. This platform is designed to service the simpler, more straightforward bets that you might be making in-game. A big perk of this platform is you stand no risk of getting overloaded and confused and making mistakes. This is great for first times or professionals who don’t like to over-complicate the situation.
Live Betting Ultra is the step up in complexity version of their in-game betting. They offer all the simpler in-game betting options and a whole slew of other bets that you may be interested in. All of these options can also be rolled into parlays if you so choose. This list includes, but is not limited to, period, halftime, and quarter lines, even or odd props, money lines, 3-way results/full-time results, point spreads, 2-way handicap, 3-way handicap, O/U, game totals, team totals, and Asian handicaps.
This program also comes with a rebate program for baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, and tennis where you will receive 2.941% back on your wager’s true amount whether you win or lose your bet. It’s important to note that you may need to opt into this program and also may be able to get it with the other in-game options. Your best course of action is to contact support if you are looking into in-game and make sure you’re getting everything they have to offer. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Live Betting Extra is their mobile friendly platform (as far as we can tell). It was a bit confusing that they had their in-game separated into three different similar systems. This looks to be the same as the Live Betting Ultra except is set up for players looking to bet on the go. This is perfect if you aren’t planning on being tethered to a computer during the game but still, want to be able to take advantage of in-game wagering.
DynamicLines is a brand new sports betting interface recently released on the platform. While the logistics and offerings were always great, the site did lack in user-friendliness. This newly launched platform has done a great job correcting that issue and creating an interface that is much easier for you to use and to monitor your bets from. The ability to filter your bets by several criteria is great for those with lots of action running and the automatically refreshing lines in real-time is also a sports bettor’s dream.
The Rest of the Site
The user interface is the one area of the site that still needs some work. The actual games, gameplay, and betting areas are all incredibly updated and fantastic. Where the issues are is some of the lobbies and the actual website that needs some work. While they are still functional and not disorganized, we would like to see them jazzed up a bit. There is nothing about them, though, that would inhibit you from having a great gambling experience. You can imagine it like a city where every building you go to and do your thing at is incredibly up to date, but the roads to drive there need a bit of touch-up.
Thankfully, the release of DynamicLines shows that the site has heard our cry and is actively working to make these improvements. Once they get this squared away, every other site will have issues competing.
5Dimes not only has a great sportsbook for you to enjoy but they also have a pretty nice casino with a lot of options if you enjoy that sort of thing or are looking to relax and blow off some steam. The casino had the following offerings in their standard casino:
- 19 Table Games
- 148 Slot Games
- 18 Video Poker Games
- 14 Specialty Games (Keno, Scratch tickets,)
- 29 Mini Games
On top of these games, they did have several games in their Matchplay Casino and Bonus Casino.
The casino section of 5Dimes also offered live dealer games for Turbo Blackjack, European Roulette, American Roulette, Baccarat, and Super 6. For those that really like the live casino experience, this is perfect for you. Real live dealers are set up at tables in a casino somewhere in the world, and the action is all streamed to you via some really cool technology. You complete all of your actions and decisions from your computer or phone, but all the action takes place live right before your eyes. The dealers are all real people and even interact with you as the games go on. Definitely, something cool for you to check out if you’ve never seen it before.
The games at 5Dimes also take advantage of technology to help you make the experience a little bit better for yourself. For example, in Blackjack, you can check a box that will automatically stay when you get to 18. No one is hitting on 18 and up unless they’re insane so this is pretty awesome and saves you some time and effort. These little technological “Easter eggs” are all throughout the site and really show attention to detail by the staff and developers at 5Dimes.

If you have any troubles depositing, there is a live chat option right on the page that can help you out with anything you need. If you need to deposit a larger amount and don’t want to use Bitcoin, we recommend contacting support, and they should be able to help set up and facilitate an option specifically for you.
One of the coolest things we want to point out first about withdrawing from 5Dimes is that they have a dedicated phone support line just for withdrawals. This means that if you have any issues or need help deciding on which option is best for you, you can get in touch with a real live person on the phone super quickly. We’ve actually never seen this before, so this is really awesome.
All players receive one free withdrawal per 30 day calendar period. Additional withdrawals would be subject to the fees listed below. While the fees are fairly standard, the free withdrawal is not. It’s great to see them adding this in for their customers.

One of the strongest parts of the 5Dimes platform is their customer service. The accessibility of support goes way above and beyond what most sites do. Here are the different options available and any pertinent information about them we wanted to share.
Live Chat Support
This is conveniently located all over the place, so you won’t have to hunt to find it if you need help. We did test it and were able to get to a person extremely quickly every time.
The site has a ton of different phone numbers dedicated to the specific help you need. What’s cool about this is you don’t have to go through a million prompts or a level one agent to get the help that you need. You will be getting someone who is especially knowledgeable about the area you are seeking assistance.
