Matchweek Nine in England’s Premier League will close out on Monday afternoon as Leicester City heads south to London to battle Unai Emery’s Arsenal side.
It has been a decent start under a new regime for Arsenal. They enter this match currently mired in a solid run – winners of ten straight fixtures in all competitions, but with the top four clubs running so well at the moment, the Gunners need to bank another three points to keep pace with those in the coveted Champions League positions.
Meanwhile, for Leicester City they enter their ninth contest of the season a solid mid-table club. While they surely expect more, that’s about as well as they could have hoped for at this point in the campaign. They do a lot well, and can trouble teams with their pace and scoring ability up front. All of that combined should make this an excellent Monday evening affair between the Gunners and the Foxes. Our EPL picks have been fairly solid recently here at The Sports Geek, so read on below the odds for a full game analysis and a betting prediction for this match.

Arsenal vs. Leicester Pick:
Many couldn’t have envisioned the Gunners transitioning to new manager Unai Emery’s system this easily nor this rapidly. It’s been quite the revelation since he took over, and it is clear that the Gunners are relishing the new style in north London.
They’re attacking very well at the moment, with their top two strikers Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang proving that they can co-exist on the field at the same time. That striking partnership has produced many goals already and the two powerful forwards are playing off of one another quite well right now. That does not bode well for the Leicester back-line, spearheaded by England star Harry Maguire. The talented center back can’t do it all himself however, and will have his hands full in dealing with Aubameyang and Lacazette.
The Gunners will also add to their already prolific attack on Monday night as they are expected to welcome back Mesut Ozil to the lineup. It’s also believed that Danny Welbeck will be available for selection for Arsenal. Both of those talents should make the Gunners even more lethal against the Leicester defense on Monday evening.
The Foxes from Leicester will be a tad depleted as they prepare for Arsenal, as their captain Wes Morgan will begin his suspension. On the injury front, Matty James and Demarai Gray will be absent.
As is often the case with Leicester, a ton will need to be done up front with Jamie Vardy leading the line if the Foxes are to stand a chance against the higher-ups within the EPL. They simply aren’t deep enough at the back or in the midfield to control play, and will need to rely on the long ball, and Vardy’s speed to get on the end of chances at goal. Meanwhile, the Gunners are running solid right now, but likely aren’t stout enough at the back without Laurent Koscielny to keep a clean sheet. Expect a high-scoring affair, with both teams finding goal, and a comfortable Arsenal victory at the Emirates. A 3-1 score-line sounds about right for Monday evening’s EPL action. Enjoy the match!
