Matchday 4 of English Premier League is already here and some sides are starting to show true colors. Chelsea seem reinvigorated by the arrival of Maurizio Sarri and have been perfect so far in the English Premier League. Likewise, Bournemouth have also enjoyed a hot start to the season and are undefeated with 7 points to their tally in the three opening matches. This one has all the makings of a firecracker matchup with plenty of goals.
Chelsea have started their season by a 0-3 away thrashing of Huddersfield Town, only to follow it up with a 3-2 home win versus Arsenal. The Blues then went on the road and won 1-2 at Newcastle and keep their perfect record intact.
Maurizio Sarri’s arrival has sparked Chelsea’s lost fire and they seem to be a legitimate title contender in the English Premier League this season. The additions of goalkeeper Kepa and midfielder Mateo Kovacic seem like perfect hits and the Blues are once again a dangerous opponent in the EPL.
Bournemouth might not seem like a household name in the EPL, but they have certainly been playing like one lately. They opened the season at home with a 2-0 thrashing of Cardiff City, only to go on the road and beat West Ham United 1-2. They did draw 2-2 at home versus Everton in their third match but have been more than equal opponent in the matchup.
Stamford Bridge will be the location of this matchup, where Chelsea will look to take advantage of the home field and bag another 3 points. Bournemouth are looking to spoil the party and put the first dent in Chelsea’s title campaign this season.
I have prepared a short breakdown of the match and some betting predictions, so feel free to read on.

Chelsea vs Bournemouth Pick
The matchup of undefeated sides at Stamford Bridge should be one of the more entertaining matches this weekend in the EPL, with plenty of goals expected. Still, there is no way around this for Chelsea. They have to win these types of games at home if they are to keep their EPL title pedigree during the season.
The Blues have been clinical in the first three matchdays in EPL and have demonstrated a rejuvenated squad that dared to play attacking soccer and run at their opponents. This is a welcome change to the dull approach that was favored by the previous manager, Antonio Conte. Maurizio Sarri has brought Chelsea up to date with the current trends in soccer. Nine points in the opening three games of EPL are the testament to this.
The key to Chelsea’s success lies in the ruthless efficiency of their midfield, where N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic absolutely stifle opposing offenses and keep returning possession to Chelsea. This gives plenty of opportunities to wingers Eden Hazard and Willian to run at defenses, often on counter attacks and create scoring opportunities for either themselves or Alvaro Morata. Chelsea’s backline is solid, with veterans like David Azpilicueta and David Luiz commanding the defense.
Bournemouth are one of the few lower-budget teams in the EPL that have decided to run at everyone and base their system on attacking soccer. This approach was successful last season, as Bournemouth were able to finish safely in the middle of the table. This season has been a revelation, so far. It will be hard for Bournemouth to keep with this pace, especially as the schedule turns for worse, but the foundation for a successful season has been laid.
I think Chelsea have the edge in this one but Bournemouth will bag its share of goals in this one. I expect a high-scoring game, where the quality of Chelsea’s midfield will prevail and secure them the fourth straight victory in the EPL this season.
