Seven Premier League matchdays are behind us, with two matches still to be played to round things off. Liverpool is at the top spot with sixteen points, followed by Leicester with fifteen, Spurs with fourteen, and Everton with thirteen. Manchester United are three spots away from the relegation zone, having earned only seven points thus far. Ideally, they have a match to play, but even with that extra win (AKA three points), they’d still be at the 12th spot.
Everton vs. Manchester United predictions are here, boys and girls, focusing on what’s one of the biggest matchups this weekend.
- Winning is imperative for Ole’s men because, in case of a loss, they could easily go down to the sixteenth spot on the Premier League standings.
- Everton, on the other hand, wants a win to get closer to build a lead in front of Southampton, Wolves, and the company.
As you’d expect from this sort of a matchup, both teams are in it to win it. While that does bring a special charm to the ordeal, and makes online betting that much more fun, it complicates our Everton vs. Manchester United predictions. But, we got to do what we got to do, so let’s start digging!
Everton’s Superb Track Record on Goodison Park
Everton’s 20/21 season kicked off with a bang! Ancelotti’s men strung together four consecutive wins and climbed to the top of the Premier League. They drew against the Merseyside reds too, which led everyone to believe they’re in it for the big bucks. But, that feeling didn’t last for too long.
Ancelotti’s men are coming into this match following two heavy blows in away matches. They lost against Southampton and Newcastle – both fixtures fancied the Toffees, but they just couldn’t wear their opposition out.
Even though James Rodriguez is the driving force behind Everton’s results, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has to be emphasized as the best individual! The 23-year-old forward already has eight goals to his name, proudly standing at the top of the Premier League rankings alongside Spurs’ Son.
James’ stats are not to be taken for granted either. Three goals and three assists – not a bad track record for the 29-year-old Columbian midfielder. But James’ impact goes beyond raw stats. He’s their creator, he’s their visionary, he’s the decisive passer not just in the final third but in central areas too. The South American connection, Richarlison and James, is what makes Everton such a strong attacking team.
Unfortunately for Merseyside blue fans, Andre Gomes might not play against United following a minor knee injury he picked up against Newcastle on Sunday. It’s nothing serious; though the staff will be monitoring his fitness level ahead of Saturday’s clash. On the bright side, James Rodriguez will be available against Manchester United, and you can bet your a** he’ll bring forth his A-game!
Ideally, Ancelotti loves the attacking 4-3-3 formation with Calvert-Lewin in the middle, surrounded by Richarlison on the left and James on the right. The midfield trio is situational, both player-wise and setup-wise, but is mostly controlled by Allan and Sigurdsson.
🇩🇪 | Klopp on DCL:
“He has everything you need in a top striker: size, mobility, speed, desire, technically really, really good.
“And now it all works together – both wings have top-class players with James and Richarlison."

The Italian strategist experimented with the good old countdown formation, 4-3-2-1, but it didn’t yield good results. He’ll probably deploy his trusty 4-3-3 against Ole’s men, perhaps with tighter marking in the middle. Everton won’t rush things, but I’m sure they won’t shy away from creating chances through the middle. Knowing how poor United’s defensive line is, it would be a real surprise if Everton scores less than two goals here.
Remember that – that’ll be useful for our Everton vs. Manchester United predictions later on!
Ole’s United Needs to Wake Up
Moving on with our picks, everyone who’s looking to bet on Premier League this weekend will want to know more about United’s form. After all, the odds on the big brand soccer bookies show off plenty of potential value up for grabs.
The only bright spot in their season have been their away matches. The Red Devils are two from two, and they’ll be hoping to secure the third one. It’s not going to be easy though – Everton is the first top-tier side they have to play against away from home.
I’ll keep this portion of our Everton vs. Manchester United betting predictions short because… well, quite frankly, there’s only one man that needs to be pointed out. You’ve guessed it, I’m referring to the Portuguese magician, Bruno Fernandes. The 26-year-old midfield maestro completely rebranded Ole’s United. If he’s having a bad day, Manchester can’t win – that’s a fact! Everyone else just isn’t worth mentioning… at the moment, at least.
Solskjaer’s tactics are all over the plays. It seems as though the Norwegian strategist isn’t sure who to use and at what position. What started out as a few experimentations quickly turned into a chaotic and somewhat uninspiring string of performances. The fans are slowly losing their patience, and the fact United is currently sitting on the fifteenth spot didn’t go too well on hardcore Red Devils’ fans.
There are plenty of talented forwards ready to step in as one of three options up front. As for the midfield, Bruno Fernandes will be the defensive anchor as well as the attacking visionary. He’ll have plenty of work on Saturday, that’s for sure! Let’s just hope, if for nothing else then for the sake of Ole keeping his job, that Bruno Fernandes comes out on top this Saturday.
Everton vs. Manchester United Betting Predictions
Let’s take a step back and look at the main stats of both teams before wrapping everything up.
In six matches, Ole’s Manchester United have won two, lost three, and draw one. They conceded thirteen goals in total; scored (only) nine.
Everton has played seven matches thus far, scoring fifteen and conceding eleven. As said in the introductory paragraph, Ancelotti’s men have thirteen points and are currently in the fourth spot, the final one leading to Champions League next season.
Despite two away losses, they’re still a force to be reckoned with… especially at Goodison Park. However, both United’s wins came from away matches, so Ancelotti’s men will have to be careful in defending their home turf advantage.
At +190, it’s certainly not the best value considering recent mishaps against Newcastle and Southampton… but the Toffees should emerge victorious this weekend!
If you don’t believe Ancelotti’s men will celebrate the big W at the end of the match, there’s a bunch alternate pick you should know about. Looking at both teams’ Premier League stats, their defensive issues are easily noticeable. In three matches on Goodison Park, the average goal count stands tall at 5.66 goals. In away matches, United’s average goal count is at 5.
Everything points to a goal-fest so here are two options you could try out if you don’t fancy Everton winning this one:
- Both teams to score at -167
- Total goals over 3.5 at +170
- Total goals over 4.5 at +400
I’ll probably have the latter as a low-stake single. +400 is just too good considering both teams’ defensive records. That’s it for our Everton vs. Manchester United predictions. Hope you now know what you’re dealing with here.
