Dinamo Minsk will be on the road for a match against Gorodeya on Saturday. It’s one of three matches that will be on the card today. Typically there would be a full slate of Major League Baseball games today, along with the first-round of the NHL playoffs on April 11. However, that of course isn’t the case, but we’re hopeful that normal will return next season for the NHL and NBA.
Even if they do figure out a way to complete their seasons and award a champion, it’s not going to be a sense of normalcy. At this juncture, I’m just hoping that the 2020-21 seasons can start close to on time. It’s all a prediction at this point, with even the experts throwing out predictions instead of concrete projections.
If you’re a fan of the Belarusian Premier League, you are likely not going to have to worry, though. That does not look like they have indications of suspending play. There is also good news out of Asia with the beginning of baseball in Taiwan. Keep an eye for CPBL picks in the near future at The Sports Geek. Without Major League Baseball, the CPBL will have to suffice for now.
The KBO in South Korea is a reputable baseball league, with some MLB players going through the KBO to the majors. They are scheduled to open their season in early May. We will have daily picks for the KBO. MLB wants to start then as well, but that seems all like a pipedream right now. There’s no way to provide a clear answer at the moment.
In Belarus, we have a trio matchups to keep us entertained, though. Unlike some of the other international contests, the Belarusian Premier League offers matches at reasonable times. Dinamo Minsk and Gorodeya are scheduled for a 10:00 a.m. EST start time at Gorodeya Stadium. Head below for our free Dinamo Minsk vs. Gorodeya pick on April 11, 2020 in the Belarusian Premier League.
FC Gorodeya vs. FC Dinamo Minsk Betting Odds:
FC Gorodeya vs. FC Dinamo Minsk Prediction:
Dinamo Minsk were the best team in the Belarusian Premier League outside of the elite group of three. They finished with a record of 15-5-10 and 50 points to put them well behind 3rd place, but were better than 12 other clubs in the Premier League. Dinamo Minsk are off to a rather pedestrian start in 2020, with a record of 1-0-2. With only three matches on their resume, it’s all rather irrelevant at this point, though. Clubs are still looking to get into sync, and it’s been tough with the distraction of the coronavirus.
I wouldn’t sleep on Dinamo Minsk despite a mediocre effort thus far. They were sleeping in their first two weeks, but were able to respond last week against Torpedo BelAz. Torpedo are a good team, so that wasn’t a win over a weak opponent. Their losses were against Ruh Brest and Minsk. The loss in the opener was a real downer, though it might have just been a case of not being focused in the first game of the year. Most of the allure of siding with Dinamo Minsk here is because of their opponent today. Gorodeya is an average club that is off to a 1-0-2 start as well. They’ve been worse than Dinamo Minsk, though, having a -2 goal differential as opposed to 0.
Gorodeya took advantage of a weak Belshina last week to get their first win by a score of 1-0. Overall on the season, Gorodeya has scored just 0.33 goals per match, while allowing 1 per match defensively. They have scored only 1 goal this season, which came last week in the win over Belshina. Shakhtyor and Vitebsk both blanked Gorodeya. Conversely, Dinamo Minsk has recorded 1.33 goals per game and conceded the same, with 1.33 goals against per match. A lack of offensive punch should hurt Gorodeya on Saturday. It should be a close match for most of the contest, but look for Dinamo Minsk to pull away for a win by a goal.
