Inter Milan vs. Real Madrid Pick – Champions League November 25, 2020

Inter Milan welcomes Real Madrid to Italy for a heavyweight match at San Siro in Milan. It should be a good one between these Serie A and La Liga giants. Inter Milan has been in good form in Serie A, as they have been solid with a record of 4-3-1. They are five points behind rival AC Milan for the top spot in Italy.

Juventus has a point on Inter Milan for the fourth spot in the table. With Ronaldo rounding into form after his stint off the pitch because of Covid-19, I have confidence in Juventus moving well ahead of where they are right now.

AC Milan has gotten off to the hottest start in Serie A. They look like they’re going to be a tough team to beat, but I would say it’s going to be a wide open race. AC Milan bounced Inter by a score of 2-1 in October to win the first match against them in this Serie A campaign.

The result lined up with what was expected in that match. They have a much more important assignment on their hands tonight at home. In what amounts to a must-win match for Inter, and big game for Real to move into sole possession of second in the group, the intensity should be high in this one.

With most groups going as planned in the Champions League, Group B has been anything but going according to expectations. The leader at the moment is German outfit Borussia Monchengladbach. That’s one quality club, but Inter and Real in a game of this magnitude in matchday four feels different.

Immediately trailing Borussia in the group is Shakhtar Donetsk from the Ukraine. Again, Donetsk are a quality club, but to be in a tie with Real Madrid going into this week and ahead of Inter Milian is going above and beyond. Real and Donetsk enter Wednesday with a record of 1-1-1 and 4 points.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan are in a desperate spot at home on Wednesday. At the bottom of the group, they’re looking at a record of 0-2-1 and 1 point. Inter needs three points soon, and when I say soon, I mean on Wednesday versus Real Madrid. They’ve put themselves in too much of a hole to avoid three points today. Head below for our free Inter Milan vs. Real Madrid pick for November 25, 2020.

Inter Milan vs. Real Madrid Prediction:

Real Madrid were 3-2 winners over Inter Milan on November 3 behind early goals by Karim Benzema and Sergio Ramos. Ivan Perisic was able to tie the match up at 2-2 at the 68 minute mark, but Rodrygo responded at the 80 minute mark with a goal of his own to put the game away for good.

Inter is going to have to address that defence on Wednesday night in Italy if they’re going to win this match. Another sloppy effort like that is going to get them nowhere fast. Defensive concerns have been a problem for Inter Milan in Serie A as well.

Note that Inter has conceded 1.62 goals per match in Serie A work in the 2020-21 campaign. Through three games in the Champions League, Inter has been tagged with 1.67 goals per game, so at least they’ve been consistent, I guess. At home in Serie A, they’ve conceded more goals at 2.25 per contest, but the offence has performed well. Inter Milan has notched 2.75 goals per match at San Siro.

Real Madrid is coming off a 1-1 draw against Villarreal on Saturday. Prior to that match, Real were 4-1 losers against Valencia in a frustrating performance. They won by all other metrics, including time of possession quite convincingly with 65% as opposed to 35% for Valencia. Real also beat Valencia with 6 shots on target compared to 4 for their opponent.

Prior to that match, the offence was cooking with at least 2 goals in four straight outings for an average of 3.5 goals. With desperation setting in, expect Inter Milan to take some chances to get 3 points today. That should set up some opportunities for Real to counter nicely. A 2-2 or 3-2 final wouldn’t surprise me here.
