Week 4 of the Premier League season is already upon us, and a great slate of games await fans and sports bettors this weekend.
Already this campaign many surprises have emerged, but Liverpool’s success thus far certainly isn’t one of them. The Reds will kick off Matchday Four with a perfect record, and have yet to even concede a goal. Their offense remains dangerous, but the solidity of Jurgen Klopp’s side might be a tad surprising thus far. If Liverpool can attack and defend with equal ability, there’s every reason to believe they can dethrone Manchester City. On Saturday the Reds will look to keep in going in their stiffest test of the season as they take on Leicester City.
Leicester lost their opening fixture of the season to Manchester United, but have rebounded the past two weeks to move into the top half of the table. The Foxes will be without star striker Jamie Vardy, and as a result they could be hard-pressed for goals against a stout Liverpool back-line.
We’ve been pretty successful with our Premier League write-ups to start out this season. Week 4 is full of great betting opportunities so continue to read on below the odds for a full match breakdown and preview for Leicester and Liverpool.
Leicester City vs. Liverpool Betting Odds:
Leicester City (+620)
Over 2.5 (-155)
Under 2.5 (+135)
Leicester City vs. Liverpool Pick:
Without Vardy, the pressure will be on Leicester to possess the ball and run at Liverpool devoid of their most talented piece. The rapid finisher made a poor decision last week vs. Wolverhampton, and as a result look for the Foxes to really rely on Kelechi Iheanacho to lead the line vs. the Reds.
Liverpool very likely will counter Leicester by making no changes to their starting lineup – why alter what is working so well? They’ve yet to allow a goal, and scored 7 from three matches, and their perfect record is already making Liverpool supporters think this finally could be their year to top the table.
Expect Liverpool’s firepower to just completely overwhelm Leicester City. The Foxes aren’t the strongest defensive club and when they don’t have the ball, getting it back from Liverpool will be tough. The front trio of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, and Sadio Mane should be able to have their way with Leicester when they’re running at them. Liverpool’s midfield play has also been superb so far. James Milner and Naby Keita have been integral in winning balls and distributing up top to their skilled finishers. They’ll play a lead role in breaking down Leicester on Saturday.
Expect Leicester City to put up a fight, as they always would at their home stadium the King Power. The only thing is right now their form is not at its peak, and without Vardy – maintaining the ball and generating chances will be tough. Harry Maguire is still a beast in the center of defense, but their just isn’t enough support elsewhere on the field to hold off Liverpool’s attack. It’s a juicy line, but the only play that I see fitting in this match-up is Liverpool to secure all three points on Saturday.
PICK = Liverpool (-225)
