Man United have been solid since coming out of the restart. It allowed the Red Devils to get to full health and their offense has been in-sync as a result. They’ve been one of the more prolific squads in all of Europe with their scoring prowess, and should be keen for more against a weakened Chelsea back-line.

Manchester United vs. Chelsea Pick:
Mixing in FA Cup games with already condensed Premier League contests with make team selection and squad rotation a tad difficult for both managers. For Man United, they just placed Thursday against Crystal Palace, so it will be intriguing to see what lineup manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer goes with against Chelsea.
Though he’s often used good squad rotation and depth in some of the earlier round FA Cup matches, don’t expect him to be nearly as generous with playing time for the semi-final. United definitely see an opportunity to win the FA Cup, especially with Man City going out yesterday.
As a result, look for Solskjaer to go with a 4-2-3-1 formation, one that offers a lot of flexibility going forward. It will be dangerous in attack and designed to really pressure Chelsea’s defense – where they’re especially vulnerable.
That lineup is not all that different from what took the pitch Thursday vs. Palace, but clearly there is a ton of urgency here. With a big break looming, Solskjaer will really rely on his young talents.
For Frank Lampard’s crew, look for him to go with a 4-3-3 lineup. Their defense doesn’t inspire much confidence, especially lately. The central pairing of Kurt Zouma and Antonio Rudiger is ripe to get exposed by the pace of United’s forwards. Chelsea’s big hope is solid play from Jorginho in the middle, and some elite finishing from a dangerous front trio of Willian, Olivier Giroud, and America’s Christian Pulisic. The latter has been in elite form of late and should be able to really trouble the United back-line on at least a couple of occasions.
Despite this being a nervy Cup match in a tense situation, the amount of offensive skill on display is impressive. Chances will be taken, and I foresee goals in what promises to be an exciting encounter throughout. While extra time is a possibility, I see United doing enough to win this match despite a shortened rest period. Their attack vs. Chelsea’s back-four is a huge mismatch, and don’t count on the Blues being able to outscore their issues. Man U to advance seems like good value on Sunday.
Pick: Man United 3-1
