RB Leipzig vs. Hoffenheim Pick – Bundesliga June 12

Another week of Bundesliga action is upon us, and though this time around there are more international leagues resuming, there are still some prime betting opportunities in Germany’s top league.

A hot run continued for us last week, where a 2-1 record improved our overall Bundesliga totals to an impressive 17-5. With the English Premier League returning mid-week, that will be the majority of our focus, but we won’t forget how kind the German league has been to us!

To kickoff this week, a Friday afternoon encounter between two teams that likely should be doing better than their current form. RB Leipzig continues to be plagued by inconsistent play as they seek a Champions League spot, and they’ll be hosting Hoffenheim this afternoon – fresh off firing their manager, Alfred Schreuder.

With both squads still in heavy contention for coveted European football positions, this matchup should provide some hunger from both sides. New Hoffenheim boss Marcel Ropp will be eager to open his account with a victory, though a talented RB Leipzig can always be a handful. Keep reading on beneath the posted odds for a matchup breakdown and betting prediction for Leipzig vs. Hoffenheim to kick off another exciting Bundesliga matchday!

RB Leipzig vs. Hoffenheim Pick:

Don’t expect too many changes for the heavy underdogs, Hoffenheim in this contest. New manager Marcel Rapp is believed to be keeping their 4-3-3 formation, but in a run of tough luck – he will be without many of his key players.

Jacob Bruun Larsen, Sargis Adamyan, and Ishak Belfodil are all out injured, thinning out the squad significantly, and giving Rapp a quick chance to see his depth. He likely won’t enjoy what he sees, and especially lately as a recent run of poor form has really spoiled a promising beginning.

Julian Nagelsmann still continues to search for the right formula for his talented, but inconsistent RB Leipzig squad. After a very difficult draw last time out to Paderborn, a renewed emphasis on having that ‘killer instinct’ has been discussed within the camp. Leipzig remain a side more talented than most, yet the results aren’t always there. They’ve lost their composure of late.

Expect some lineup changes for the favourites, and it should provide for a more disciplined approach. Marcel Sabitzer is expected to return to the midfield, and that should really help stretch the Hoffenheim defense, while also providing elite service up top to the likes of Patrick Schick, and Timo Werner.

Werner has been in the news all week, with a move to Chelsea all but certain later this summer. He has mentioned he’d love to close out his RB Leipzig account on a positive though, so expect this scoring machine to slow down for nobody. He has 25 goals in just 30 contests thus far, and with his finishing touch, combined with the creativity surrounding him – Hoffenheim’s depleted defensive group will be in tough.

With disarray emerging within the Hoffenheim camp and a run of very concerning form, it’s hard to look past anything but the favourites here. While there might be value on both sides to score and the over 3.5, a focused RB Leipzig group knows what they must do to succeed. There is a big gap in talent here, and look for RB Leipzig to cruise to an easy and convincing victory on Friday afternoon.

Prediction: RB Leipzig 3-1

My Pick
Leipzig -1.5
