A game that seems to be evenly matched, Manchester City and Tottenham have all the ingredients for an enticing match this weekend. Bodog has Manchester City as the favorite, this comes as no surprise as the early season league leaders sit at +145 on the money line. Tottenham, who got thrashed 3-0 in their first and only game of the Premier League season sits at +180. According to Bodog, a tie is the least likely to happen as it sits at +225 on the money line.

Manchester City vs Tottenham Game Preview
Coming off of a serious defeat earlier this week, Tottenham will hope to take their frustration out on the other team from Manchester. All in all Tottenham looked outmatched in their first game against Manchester United. Although they lost the possession battle by a mere 3%, it was obvious what team was more fluid and threatening and it was not the Spurs. Gareth Bale was a bright spot in an otherwise bleak game as he tried and tried to attack down the left flank, but to no avail. The Tottenham attack will hopefully be boosted by the acquisition of Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City. The defense as a whole did not look too shabby, but after a period of sustained pressure from Manchester United, the levees eventually broke. The key to getting a result this week will be to use the offense to take away some of the pressure for the defense.
Manchester City is flying high as they sit on top of the table after 2 games, with a goal differential of +5. David Silva and Sergio Aguero are the main two people to thank for that impressive start, but the entire team is looking great. Players like Edin Dzeko and Micah Richards are playing like all-stars. Dzeko has 2 goals and Richards has 2 assists thus far. This will be Man City’s first real test in the EPL this season and it will show us what kind of side they actually are. Their first two games were against newly promoted Swansea (4-0) and middle of the road squad Bolton (3-2).
Man City vs Tottenham Prediction
After watching the game against Manchester United earlier this week, I was stunned to see that Tottenham was not the team I expected to see. And even though the score doesn’t show it, that was a very close game until the flood gates were opened after an hour. Manchester City has not really played anyone of a high caliber and honestly with the addition of Adebayor, the Spurs are looking more enticing every day. I am going to call the upset here and pick Tottenham to come away with a much needed 3 points from this game. They simply cannot afford to drop another 3 this week. Take Tottenham at nice +180 odds.
