Matchday Three of the English Premier League is already upon us, and if this week is anything like the previous two – soccer fans across the globe are in for a real treat. While much of the globe is anxiously awaiting the Mayweather/McGregor bout, Saturday’s soccer matches will provide a scintillating appetizer, as well as some good parlay material should you choose to do so!
This week’s featured match-up takes place between two lesser-known sides, but all we care about here is extracting some good value. Though there are definitely some more marquee match-ups on the EPL betting board, the fixture between Watford and Brighton & Hove Albion screams value to us. Watford have began their campaign admirably, first drawing Liverpool and then last week travelling to Bournemouth and handedly disposing of them.
For Brighton, they’re a newly promoted side that have already endured some difficulties in the first two weeks. They’ve yet to score and in both clashes have been beaten easily. This is a big fixture for them, and no doubt it is a game they expect to compete it. The question is do they have the quality to hang in this league? Read on below to find out for a full breakdown and analysis.

Watford vs. Brighton & Hove Pick:
It truly is a tale of two teams entering this Week 3 matchup. Brighton have yet to score one goal this season, while Watford have had little difficulty tickling the twine. The Hornets have scored five goals already with even more help on the way.
It is believed that Watford’s latest signing Andre Carrillo is going to make his season debut from Benfica and that should bolster an already prolific attack, and one Brighton & Hove Albion may struggle to defend against. Brighton manager Chris Hughton warned his players this week that the tendencies they got away with at the lower leagues don’t work in the EPL. Right now, Brighton cannot generate much offensively and they’re not stout enough defensively to play for low-scoring draws.
Unfortunately for the Seagulls of Brighton, Watford only seems to be getting stronger. Their skipper Troy Deeney recently returned from an injury and he’s been a Brighton killer in the past with his goal-scoring ability. Brighton’s defense seems as leaky as it comes in the EPL right now, and look for Watford’s creative attackers – led by Deeney, to run all over the Brighton backline.
Brighton are overmatched right now. While they aren’t yet a lock to go down, they need to be better and perhaps buy more players to compete. Watford aren’t perfect either – especially along their defensive line, but smart head coach Marco Silva has done a great job of masking these deficiencies. I see them enjoying a comfortable home victory on Saturday afternoon to maintain their undefeated run. Their talent will shine against lowly Brighton.
PICK = Watford (+100)
