Week two of the Premier League season finishes up on Monday afternoon as unbeaten Manchester United travels to Wolverhampton, to do battle with the Wolves.
Wolverhampton were undoubtedly one of the surprise outfits from last season. Scoring regularly, defending well, and brilliant tactics from manager Nuno Espirto Santo. Last week they drew 0-0 at Leicester City, but deserved a much better fate. In terms of expected goals, the Wolves outplayed their opponents and had many chances throughout. This is a squad that can score and should be able to find the back of the net as they return home on Monday. Last year, the Wolves beat Manchester United in both fixtures, and though the Red Devils look to be much improved – the Wolves have their sights firmly set on a top-six spot.
For Manchester United, what a grand start it was. If any team needed a 4-0 victory, it was certainly them. It allowed the group to breathe and gave a cushion to coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as well. The Red Devils are an improved side in 2019, deeper up front and solid at the back. While there are still holes within the midfield, they’ve finally injected more youth to the squad and that should help with their speed going forward.
This should be a riveting match to end off Gameweek 2. Both sides have plenty of attacking flair and creativity up front. Read on below the odds for a detailed preview, tactical breakdown, and a winning wager to end the week off on a high note. Enjoy Wolves vs. Man U!

Wolverhampton vs. Manchester United Pick:
This should be an absolute cracker of match. Both teams are expected to announce very attack-minded lineups when those get posted about an hour before kickoff, and it should make for an exciting match.
Manchester United tore apart Chelsea last week, as their ball movement and speed was lethal. That said, going into the Molineux makes for a tough atmosphere, and though the Wolves have their own issues at the back – the pressure they put on other teams’ back-lines should worry the Red Devils.
For United’s defense – it has instantly become a solid group once again. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is long, rangy, and immensely talented at left back, while the central pairing of Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire provides the squad the necessary anchor it’s been lacking for years. That back-line looks as formidable as ever, and it will be interesting to see how the Red Devils can hold up against the blitz the Wolves typically put on.
Expect the United defense to withstand any and all advances. They’re just too solid at the moment and until squads figure out how to attack that wall, teams could struggle vs. United. Last week vs. Chelsea, United used their defense to spur speedy counter-attacks going forward. Though their midfield isn’t the best at ball winning and defending, the likes of Paul Pogba, Andres Pereira, and Scott McTominay are excellent at creating and delivering the ball forward.
Look for Man U to dominate the majority of this match. They’re in elite form at the moment, and books are slow to catch up to how good this squad can actually be. United will be challenged more than they were in Week 1, but ultimately the speed of Daniel James, Marcus Rashford, and Anthony Martial should overwhelm the Wolves at the back. I’d expect both teams to score, with Man U emerging by a 2-1 score-line.
