The ATP Tour currently has two tournaments underway at Bastad in Sweden and Newport in Rhode Island for the Hall of Fame Open. There are some good players at Newport this week including John Isner, Felix Auger Aliassime, and Andy Murray.
I should say it previously included Auger Aliassime. The No. 1 seed in the tournament lost in an upset to Jason Kluber in three sets. Kluber defeated Auger Aliassime, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), with Isner the highest seed in the tournament at Newport.

Bastad also saw an upset, with the No. 1 seed absent from the rest of the tournament in Sweden. Casper Ruud lost to Francisco Cerdundolo, as he continues to struggling after losing to Rafael Nadal in the final at Roland Garros.
Several notable upsets have occurred as of late, with the biggest on the women’s side at Wimbledon. Iga Swiatek had her 37-match winning streak come to an end on Court 1 at Wimbledon.
There isn’t going to be an upset either way in our featured matchup at Newport on Friday. Andy Murray is a small favorite over Alexander Bublik in this quarterfinal match in Rhode Island. He is the No. 6 seed at Newport, while Bublik is the No. 3 seed.
Murray is coming off a hard-fought three-set win over Max Purcell. He dropped the first set, 6-4, but came back strong with a 6-2, 6-1 win.
Bublik opened his tournament at Newport with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 win over unseeded Jack Sock. This was despite all of the errors that Bublik was making in that one.

Bublik vs. Murray Prediction:
Alexander Bublik reached the third round at Wimbledon following two opening wins. He skipped past Dusan Lajovic in a 7-6 (9-7), 6-2, 7-5 win, but couldn’t move on past the third after a loss to No. 23 Frances Tiefoe.
It could have very easily been a five-set match, though Bublik lost two tiebreakers to turn the direction of the match. Bublik was dispatched in a 6-3, 6-7 (1-7), 6-7 (3-7), 6-4 loss.
Andy Murray and Bublik are not strangers this year. This will be their fourth match, with Murray winning two of three. Bublik won at the Indian Wells, 7-6, 6-3, but Murray fought back for a 6-3, 7-6 win not too long ago at Stuttgart.
Bublik has held pretty well on the grass over the past two years. He doesn’t like the clay, and is very average on a hard court, but his best results are typically on the grass. Bublik has a record of 18-9 on a grass surface over the last two years.
Don’t expect either player to be perfect in this match. Murray will have his moments and Bublik should offer some resistance with his service game. This looks like an OVER match at the Hall of Fame Open on Friday afternoon.
