- Pittsburgh quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a fractured left wrist.
- The Steelers’ QB will attempt to practice this week and hopes to play against Chicago on Sunday.
- There has been a change in Pittsburgh’s odds this week, but not the way you’d think.
Aaron Rodgers of the Pittsburgh Steelers suffered a wrist fracture against Cincinnati, and will try to practice with an eye on playing on Sunday against Chicago.
There is a slight change in the odds for Sunday’s Steelers-Bears matchup, but the direction might surprise you.
Rodgers Will Try to Practice This Week Before the Game
Rodgers spoke to reporters on Wednesday afternoon.
Rodgers stated:
"It feels better than it did Sunday, that's for sure…I was thankful to get today to work with [head athletic trainer Gabe Amponsah] and just focus on rehab for today. Trying to get back on the field tomorrow and see what I can do."
Rodgers injured his non-throwing wrist against the Cincinnati Bengals in a 34-12 win, and stayed in the locker room for the second half. But Rodgers would love to get back onto the field for the Steelers, especially against the Bears.
The 41-year-old is 24-5 against the Bears in his career, all of which came during his time in Green Bay. He said that he still owned the Bears after a 2021 win. Rodgers has tried to smooth over his relationship with Chicago fans.
"There's incentive for every opponent, but I have enjoyed many a Sunday and Monday and Thursdays in that city. It's a great sports town, phenomenal sports fans and great place to play."
I'd rather not be [the villain]; I mean, I'm not in Green Bay anymore. I feel like we can let bygones be bygones. Maybe I can, I guess.”
However, Bears’ fans are likely looking forward to booing Rodgers loudly on Sunday.
But have the odds changed for the Steelers’ trip to the Windy City?
Has There Been Any Change in the Steelers-Bears Odds?
There is a small change to the NFL Week 12 odds for the Steelers-Bears matchup. Pittsburgh opened as a 3-point underdog on the road, but they’re actually now a 2.5-point underdog at many NFL betting sites.
You would think that the line would move towards the Bears, but perhaps Rodgers’ history against the team played into the sportsbooks’ price. It’s also not like the Steelers are leaning heavily on Rodgers. Pittsburgh is 22nd in passing yards per game this season, although they are 28th in rushing yards. The Pittsburgh offense isn’t exactly a juggernaut.
But Rodgers will do his best to get out on the field on Sunday, and he’ll be aiming to send Chicago Bears’ fans home with another loss!
