National League Championship Series Odds

The NLCS promises to be a good one in this 2009 MLB postseason. There are four great teams battling it out for the four NL pennant. NLCS contenders include the Los Angeles Dodgers, St Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Philles, and Colorado Rockies. Check out the NLCS Odds for each team below.

Odds for which MLB team will win the 2009 National League:

LA Dodgers: -120
Philadelphia Phillies: +100

A $100 bet on -120 odds pays a total of $183
A $100 bet on +100 odds pays a total of $200

The odds have been released for a future bet on who will be the National League (NL) champions in the 2009 MLB season. The National League is pretty open this year, with a lot of teams having a shot of winning the NL championship. Although there isn’t any huge favorites in the National League there are some top teams including the New York Mets, Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies and the LA Dodgers. At the bottom of the pack in the NL there is really only about three or four teams who realistically don’t have a shot of winning the NL championship.

When taking a look at the odds for the NL championship I notice that there are a lot of solid teams with higher odds. These are the types of bets I would look at making in the National League. Because the NL is so wide open this year it would be a good idea to take a riskier pick. I really like the odds on a couple of teams in the NL Central and NL West divisions. From the NL Central the St Louis Cardinals at +1100 odds is a solid choice, along with both the Houston Astros and Milwaukee Brewers at +1600 odds. From the National League West division you can get good odds on teams like Colorado or San Francisco which both have outside shots of making the playoffs. It is going to be hard to get good odds from any NL East teams as two top teams (Mets and Phillies) are most likely to win the division.
