As the clock ticks down to the next Sports Equinox, anticipation is building on one of the biggest betting days on the calendar! So, what is a Sports Equinox, and how can you cash in on the rare anomaly?
I explore everything that you need to know about the Sports Equinox 2026, and will update this post with more betting picks once the odds are out. I’ve also added a few promotions that can boost your return around the Sports Equinox, courtesy of top online betting sites.
What Is a Sports Equinox?
A Sports Equinox is when all four major sports in the United States have games scheduled on the same day. The NFL, NHL, NBA, and MLB all have regular season or postseason matchups being played on a Sports Equinox day.
Based on current scheduling for all four leagues, this is only possible in October or if the World Series ends in early November.
When Is the Next Sports Equinox?
The 2026 Sports Equinox is set for Monday, October 26, 2026. All four major leagues will be in action, including Monday Night Football and the World Series.
This is the 33rd Sports Equinox in recorded history. The most recent Sports Equinox occurred on October 27, 2025. In an atypical year, there can be multiple in the same year. For instance, in 2022, there were three Equinoxes in a single year, which happened on October 20, October 23, and October 31.
