The NFL released its 2025 regular-season schedule to the public on Wednesday, May 14. That gives fans time to plan their trips to see their favorite teams. It also gives NFL betting sites time to set the lines for Week 1, or at least start their research.
The New York Giants top the list of the league’s toughest slates, along with a pair of NFC North teams, the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears.
NFL Strength of Schedule Based on 2024 Regular-Season Records; NFC North and East Headline List
The NFL strength of schedule rankings are based on the 2024 regular-season records. That gives the Giants the #1 spot, thanks to that metric.
The Giants’ opponents had a combined win percentage of .574 last season, and they start off the season on the road at Washington and Dallas, before hosting Kansas City and the Los Angeles Chargers. However, the Giants’ schedule is only slightly tougher than the Lions and Bears, whose opponents have a combined win percentage of .571. These two NFC North teams face off in Week 2 in Detroit.
The NFC North and East divisions are tipped to be difficult in 2025, and NFL betting sites should reflect that. The Bears and Lions are tied for second in strength of schedule, while Minnesota and Green Bay are tied for fifth. The NFC East will also be tough as the Giants are first, while the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles are fourth. The Dallas Cowboys are tied for fifth, and the Washington Commanders are eighth.
Kansas City are tied for the 11th-toughest slate, alongside the AFC West rival Chargers. The Chiefs feature prominently on the holiday schedule as they visit Dallas on Thanksgiving, and host Denver on Christmas. The Chiefs lead all teams with seven primetime games, and they’ll look for revenge against the Eagles in Week 2. The Eagles walloped the Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl 59.
Are There Any NFL Games Outside the United States?
The NFL continues to try to expand their reach, with the most international games ever in one season. The Chiefs and Chargers meet in São Paulo, Brazil in Week 1, while Minnesota plays Pittsburgh in Week 4 in Dublin, Ireland, then Cleveland in London, England a week later. In Week 6, Denver and the New York Jets face off in London, and one week later, the Los Angeles Rams and Jacksonville also play in London.
In Week 10, the Atlanta Falcons and Indianapolis Colts face off in Berlin, Germany. The NFL International slate wraps up in Week 11 in Madrid, Spain, with the Commanders and Miami Dolphins. This is the first time the NFL visits Spain, and the Dublin game will also be the NFL’s debut in Ireland.
NFL OTA workouts are kicking off, so keep an eye out this summer for updated Super Bowl odds as teams begin to take shape!
