LeBron James Favored To Be Next Athlete Roasted On Netflix

  • Following the success of The Roast of Tom Brady, fans are eagerly anticipating who will be the next athlete to get roasted on the Netflix special.
  • Lakers star LeBron James has the shortest odds of being the next athlete on the receiving end of a roast.
  • The Roast of Tom Brady was the sixth most-watched live event on Netflix of the week.

Are you looking forward to the Netflix athlete roast? According to BetOnline, LeBron James (+400) is the next likeliest athlete to be featured on the next Netflix roast.

The 39-year-old four-time NBA champion has hinted at retiring from the NBA sooner rather than later. Although it seems unlikely that James will retire this year, he is approaching that point shortly.

So, would James take the Tom Brady route after he retires and be the subject of a Netflix roast? Per the latest odds, James has an implied chance of 20% to be the next “victim”.

Is LeBron Set To Be The Next Netflix Roast Target?

It might sound out of character for James to participate in a roast.“King James” has maintained a clean image throughout his career. He has shown a sense of humor and is not a humorless robot.

However, if the roast is anything like Brady’s, it’s difficult to say if James would greenlight such a raunchy show. Behind him in the odds at BetOnline, there are some more understandable targets for a roast.

Currently, Charles Barkley (+500) and Shaquille O’Neal (+500) have the second-shortest next Netflix roast odds. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson comes in at +600, while Travis Kelce rounds out the top 5 at +800.

The NFL star appears like an obvious choice, as the Kansas City Chiefs tight end can take a joke. It’s unlikely it would happen if he were still with Taylor Swift, though. And, if they call it quits, which comedian or athlete would have the guts to joke about Swift, ala Gisele Bündchen?

The Swifties would not have it. I can say with certainty that the person delivering the joke and Netflix would turn into public enemy No. 1 against the Swifties. Bundchen, who did not appreciate being the butt of jokes, was a regular target on The Roast of Tom Brady.

Comedian Nikki Glaser and Kevin Hart had a few jokes regarding Bündchen and her new relationship.

“Jesus Christ, Tom. One of the smartest who ever played the game. How did you not see this coming? Eight f*****g karate classes a day … Eight karate classes a day, and she’s still a white belt,” said Hart, referring to Bündchen’s relationship with martial arts instructor Joaquim Valente.

Sixth Most-Watched Live Netflix Event For The Week

The Roast of Tom Brady received overwhelmingly positive reviews. The much-discussed roast attracted 2 million viewers on Sunday night.

The 2 million viewers make it the sixth most-watched program on Netflix for the week of April 29 to May 5. This is despite these numbers only accounting for live numbers.

It does not take into consideration people who watched the taped version afterward. Currently, those figures are not publicly available, but it would put the viewership well over the current 2 million.

It is almost certain that Netflix will want to have another popular athlete featured on another roast in the future. While it was most certainly edgy, be that as it may, it received a mostly positive reaction from the public and was a hit for Netflix.

So, is James the next roast victim on Netflix? What about Peyton Manning at +1000, or even Tiger Woods at +1200? For what it’s worth, Willie Mays has the worst odds of being on the next Netflix roast at +10000!
