Puka Nacua of the Los Angeles Rams has been in the news for various incidents surrounding live streams. Now, his brother is accused of stealing a car.
With the Rams on the cusp of the playoffs, Nacua could become a distraction.
Nacua Rips Refs, Tries to Get Live Streamers into Practice, Brother Gets Arrested
It was revealed on Thursday that Nacua’s brother, Samson, was arrested and accused of stealing a car last weekend.
Samson Nacua and a friend are alleged to have stolen a vehicle belonging to Adou Thiero, driving it to a hotel in Hollywood, where they were arrested.
However, this might not even be the worst thing that has happened to Nacua this week. Earlier this week on a live stream with Adin Ross, Nacua did a touchdown dance that is antisemitic. Ross, who is Jewish, taught Nucua the dance, and asked him to do it if he scores in tonight’s game against Seattle. Nacua has received backlash from all corners.
On the same live stream, Nacua also said that he thinks some referees make calls just to get on television. He also attempted to get Ross and another streamer into a Rams’ practice. However, head coach Sean McVay denied the streamers access. Nacua also live-streamed the Rams’ locker room after a 45-17 rout over Arizona in Week 14.
The Rams have a big game on Thursday night. Is Nacau taking focus away from the team?
Will Nacua Be a Distraction for the Rams’ Big Game?
Thursday Night Football odds had the Rams favored by a point on the road at Seattle in a huge NFC game. As of Thursday, about six hours before kickoff, the Seahawks were now favored by a point.
The odds may have moved for another reason, and not Nacua, but the receiver certainly isn’t helping. He is second in the league with 1,367 yards, second in receptions with 102, and he has six touchdowns. But the Rams are tied with Seattle at 11-3 before heading into this massive game with the NFC West and a #1 seed hanging in the balance. The Rams edged the Seahawks 21-19 at home in Week 11.
The Rams are a veteran team, and if Nacua plays well in a Rams’ win, all could be forgotten. But if the Rams lose and Nacua doesn’t play well, he’s going to have to answer questions. He seems like he’s getting more into live-streaming, which is fine. However, he will be questioned for doing all this the week of the biggest game of the season, and on a short week, no less.
There will be plenty of eyes on Nacua on Thursday night, and not just for football reasons!
