Tyson Fury Willing to Fight Anthony Joshua, But For the Right Price

  • Former heavyweight king Tyson Fury is retired, but he has said he’d fight fellow former champ Anthony Joshua if the money is right.
  • Joshua will face Jake Paul on December 19, 2025.
  • There are no odds for this potential superfight yet, and it would be interesting to see who the bookies would favor.

Retired former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has told his promoter he would fight another former champ, Anthony Joshua. However, it would only be for the right price.

Joshua has to get past Jake Paul on Friday. If there is a Fury-Joshua matchup, it would be fascinating to see who the bookies would back.

Warner Optimistic of Fury-Joshua Fight in 2026

Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, made the statement on Monday.

Warren seems quite confident that Fury, who hasn’t fought since his second straight loss to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024, would be willing to return to face Joshua.

"I think it's going in the right direction and hopefully we'll get some news pretty soon as to what's going to happen."

I do believe it will happen."

Fury and Joshua are two of the biggest British boxers of all time. But a matchup between the two heavyweights has never materialized. Fury called out Joshua way back in December 2018, after his split draw against Deontay Wilder. But for one reason or another, these two have never fought.

However, Warren says that a Fury-Joshua fight would only happen if Joshua beats Paul on Friday.

"Jake Paul has had 12 fights. He's never fought at this level, he's never fought at this weight at heavyweight and he's fighting a two-time world champion, former Olympic gold medalist who's still ranked in the top 10 despite his loss that he had against Daniel Dubois, his comprehensive loss against him.

He should have too much – much, much too much – for Jake Paul, and if he can't beat Jake Paul, we shouldn't even be talking about him fighting Tyson Fury. He shouldn't be fighting a 60-year-old Tyson Fury if he gets beat by Jake."

The Jake Paul-Anthony Joshua odds are backing the British boxer, who is a massive favorite on Friday night in Miami.

But who would the bookies back between Fury and Joshua?

Who Would Be Favored, Fury or Joshua?

This won’t even be an option at boxing betting sites if Joshua loses to Paul. But if Joshua gets by Paul, as he should, there’s a good chance he comes into a Fury fight as the underdog.

The 37-year-old Fury is 34-2 with a draw, and his only two losses have come against Usyk, arguably the #1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world. It’s either Usyk or Terence Crawford, who beat Canelo Álvarez in September 2025. Fury, who has held all the major heavyweight belts, is also still listed in heavyweight rankings, despite announcing his fifth retirement in January 2025. If Joshua beats Paul, the negotiations would likely go into overdrive. If nothing else, Fury loves a big paycheck!

Joshua is 36, and he is 28-4, but he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois in September 2024. Joshua also has two losses to Usyk. But he has some blemishes on his resume that Fury doesn’t, namely, his first loss to Andy Ruiz Jr. in June 2019, and the Dubois loss. He did knock out MMA champion Francis Ngannou in March 2024, and Fury struggled to beat Ngannou in a controversial split decision in October 2023. Joshua has never won the WBC belt, but he does have one accolade that doesn’t have, and that’s a gold medal at super heavyweight from the 2012 Olympics.

However, it was obvious that Fury didn’t take that fight seriously. He wouldn’t make the same mistake against Joshua. The bookies could lean towards Fury in a truly massive fight, literally, figuratively, and most importantly, financially!
