  • Popular sports bettor Marco Piemonte won $3 million on a six-leg parlay bet last weekend.
  • Piemonte’s original bet was $65,000 at +4453 odds or a win of $2,959,632.75.
  • This was not the first time that Piemonte has won a seven-digit amount on a parlay bet as he’s won at least two $1 million parlay bet this year.

Australian-based sportsbook PointsBet reported a very good 16% hold on parlay bets made in the state of Illinois during the first seven months of 2022 and claimed a healthy $14.4 million in revenue.

PointsBet’s actual September numbers won’t be out until November when the Illinois Gaming Board publishes the month’s total sports betting figures.

However, the said sportsbook took a huge hit when popular Illinois sports bettor Marco Piemonte won nearly $3 million off a six-leg parlay bet last weekend. To illustrate how big Piemonte’s win was, it was larger than the monthly revenue that PointsBet USA has collected from parlay bets in all but two of the 23 months it has operated in the state.

Broncos Win, Marco Wins

Piemonte’s original parlay bet consisted of two NCAAF games and four NFL games at +8708 odds and with potential winnings of $5.7 million. Marco’s day began well as Minnesota defeated Michigan State at -145 odds. His parlay looked like it was over at the second leg but he caught a break as Arkansas scored last during its 23-21 loss to Texas A&M. That game produced a push at +2, and although it kept his parlay bet alive, the odds were significantly slashed to +4453. Then came the NFL’s Sunday slate.

Piemonte bet big on the Indianapolis Colts at +200 against the powerhouse Kansas City Chiefs. Indianapolis pulled off the upset, beating Kansas City 20-17 behind Matt Ryan’s game-winning TD pass to rookie Jelani Woods. His next pick was the Jacksonville Jaguars who were +140 ML underdogs against the Los Angeles Chargers. Jacksonville had lost 18 consecutive road games entering Sunday’s games. They wound up beating the Chargers 38-10 in a huge blowout.

Next on Piemonte’s betting slip was a +1.5 wager on the Green Bay Packers versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With Tampa Bay missing its top receivers, the Packers managed to beat the Bucs outright 14-12, giving “Marco Parlay” the fourth win in his six-leg parlay bet. Then came the Denver Broncos who he backed at +1.5 points against the San Francisco 49ers. Denver looked flat all game before Russell Wilson engineered a 12-play 80-yard drive that ended in a 1-yard pass to Melvin Gordon with 4:10 left in the game. Denver ended up winning outright 11-10.

Not the First Time for Marco

Sunday wasn’t the first time that Piemonte has featured in a massive parlay bet win. Last October, he won $1.3 million on a four-leg parlay that included two ML bets on the NBA, one ML bet on College Football, and an ML bet on the NFL. He bet on four underdogs at odds of +4357 which turned his $30,000 bet into a $1,307,100 windfall.

Last September 11th, Piemonte also posted a four-leg college football bet at +4767 odds. His original wager was at $30,000 and his winnings totaled 1,216,841.57. In January, he also cashed in on a $30,000 parlay bet at +3923 odds. Marco won $1,206, 956.58 with the 2022 NCAAF title game between Georgia vs Alabama the clincher.

If you take a look at his social media accounts, you will find out that Piemonte regularly makes huge parlay bets and has won too many six-figure parlay bets to mention. Of course, he has taken huge losses too. However, his million-dollar wins are more publicized, just like the latest one.
